The first car looks like the love child of a Land Rover and an NSU Prinz. The second one, a bit like "Tweety Bird" Both of them look suspiciously rear-engined.

   About the VW:

  How about we put up a dedicated topic for the car? I believe today the mech must have opened the drums and examined the brakes. I shall visit him maybe this evening on my way to work but surely tomorrow morning and provide him with the parts he needs for the brakes.

 He is keen to see the car go out of his garage so I will hurry things up a bit. The mohalla people are making a fuss as too many cars are blocking the street. 

I will try my best to get the brakes and engine tuning etc sorted asap. Will let you know when we need the battery. Maybe you can join us and see it being started. Btw Eaton and  lot of eateries are at walking distance from the garage :-)

I think your signature line needs to be updated a bit too.

This Sunday's Dawn advertiser had a feature on the Citroen 2CV, a heartwrenching piece for me at least. :(

Hi all,

This is my first post on this forum or any Pakwheel forum as a matter of fact, so salaam to all. Firstly I find all this forum quite amazing that there is a something like this going on in Pakistan, I have been away for sometime and will be moving back shortly.

I have been following this post religiously and find it extremely interesting. All you guys are doing an amazing job. I can’t wait to see neuro’s alfa, I’m a bit of an alfa fan myself, and currently have a Alfa 166 here in the UK, not sure about bringing it back with me though.

I would really like to get involved in restoring a car myself once I’m back and .The Mercedes W108 is my favourite and my Mamu has one in the UK, an amazing car. How difficult is it getting hold of these cars and what sort of price range will I be looking at. Secondly I have read quite a few times that Mercs are very expensive to restore? When we say expensive how expensive? It would be really helpful if I could just get a rough figure in mind.

Are the Merc W108 and W114 difficult to find in Pakistan, I wish I could ship one from here.

If anyone knows about the availability of these cars, let me know as I will be back in August.

Romano e-mailed his bank a/c details. I 'll transfer the money in a day or two, just waiting for a cheque to come in which was due on the 6th but is a bit delayed due to signatory in Dubai...expected back tonight. I don't think I would want a seperate thread for the VW....you may go ahead and do it but I am not sure how I would go about restoring it....I'd defintely want to be there when the mechanic is ready to start the car...let me know when and I 'll bring the battery and fuel.

welcome! nt many W108's in Pakistan but just to give you an idea, a 1971 280S requiring a lot of work is for sale at 250,000/-.
