@ mohsin bhai
Glad you are in touch with Romano and direct dealing is taking place.
Here is the update for today. I did not have my (P) with me so no pics.
--All four wheel drums opened.
--Found nice and clean with no oil residues or leaks.
--Brake linings nice and thick. They are of the desi type but very good. Was planning to go for Brazil made ones but changed my mind.
--Wheel slaves found seizing/seized obviously due to the stranded status of the car. Gently coaxed and dismantled.
--Master cylinder dismantled. Bore good. Is of the single circuit type.
--Steel lines broke in the process of taking the master out.
--Front wheel bearings having a bit of play. Decided to bin these.
--
Now the list of stuff I bought for you today:
Brake master cylinder kit. Complete with piston, washers and boot.
Brake oil.
Slave cyl washers.
ALL metal brake lines. I am never satisfied till all rusty/doubtful lines have been replaced so I got all. They are not expensive so must be changed as we are running single circuit brakes.
Front wheel bearings.
A new fan belt as the old one was worn and loose.
Rubber washer for the reservoir pipe entry point into the Master.
Some solvent for cleaning the hardware before installation.
-
(am I forgetting something??)
Brakes should be ready by tomorrow afternoon or evening.
Please let me know the plans for Saturday so we can arrange a meeting there with the aim of firing the car up.
Regards.
