Does washing new car (honda city18) engine is good or bad ?

I would suggest you to just get some air blown onto it to blow off dust. Dont need to wash and create unwanted trouble for urself.

I think it all depends on the condition of engine bay.
If it's extremely dirty, you can't avoid wasihng and cleaning it.
Just cover ECU with some impervious material, pour the water gently. Use Good quality Shampoo. After final cleaning, get the engine bay cleaned / cleared with high pressure air jet, to not let water remain in the engine bay.
I have been regularly, thoroughly cleaning my engine bay since last year on fortnightly basis, AL HAM DU LI LLAH never faced any issue.

Please shed some light respected Senior Members, and discuss it's drastic and deleterious effects, so that I may also discontinue this practice (I have been doing so since last year, and I never faced any issue).

Definitely if sensors / fuses malfunction or misbehave, it clearly becomes a real, big headache.

if you have to wash hand clean, do not spray.Other members have mentioned why but i'll repeat. there are sensors, high pressure water can cause cracks in the metal, corrosion etc.

Yes. Exactly.
I always have my engine cleaned by hand wash and very gently, never through high jet of water. High jet of water can malfunction sensors and many other things, and on very hot engine, it can cause thermal stresses and fatigue.

Im using city from last 3 years and I wash the car engine after 2or3 weeks with simple water.no issues at all till now..but be careful don't wash engine with high pressure water that's it.

washing engine bay is not a good idea. please dont take you city as a mujh-which needs a weekly washing with a bucket of water or pressure hose.

bro. auto experts never advice weekly/monthly engine bay washing, bcz it may damage auto parts and sensors. In case of really bad engine bay use only digreaser i.e. wd40.

petrol is the best degreaser, i guess. WD40 is multipurpose and expensive than petrol ??

WD-40 Literally Means :
W= Water
D= Displacement
40 = It was the 40th attempt to make this solution that worked.
