Liana is not that bad car but have some special features taken care of in a very specific manner.
Liana missing, jerking and overheating with AC turned on is the most common problem. Most of the other problems (Check engine light or sensor failure etc.) are the byproduct of overheating. Some friends make their RADIATOR FANS connections direct which is not a bad idea but still not enough. This adds a little help though especially if the car is running at a HIGHWAY. But still it is not enough. If the car is not moving and AC is turned on, it will OVERHEAT anyway.
DIRECT RADIATOR FANS WORK ON A LOW SPEED or you may say SPEED 1. Radiator fans should work on SPEED 2 if the ENGINE gets TOO HOT.
Reasons...
Liana has dual speed radiator fans. With AC turned off, one of the radiator fans works when needed (Automatic). With AC turned on both the fans kick in. When the car starts overheating both fans increase their speed automatically. This function (2 SPEED FANS function) is one of the most important functions of Liana. Which in most cases doesn't work properly. People just see fans moving and think everything is fine with the radiator and fans.
The second reason is blocked water circulation circuit which can be due to one of many reasons such as BAD COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR, WEAK WATER CIRCULATION PUMP, STUCK THERMOSTAT VALVE, BLOCKED PIPES OF HEATER RADIATOR IN THE DASHBOARD or BLOCKED WATER JACKET.
This causes fans to kick in after the engine gets too much hot. Especially the UPPER PART (Cylinder Head etc.).
Symptoms...
Overheating.
Temperature gauge does not move further upwards from the middel point of the temperature gauge even at higher temperatures.
Ignition plug burns.
Ignition coil burns.
Head gasket leak.
Radiator leak.
Water boil.
Missing.
Jerking.
Stalling.
Car feels under power.
Solution...
Replace COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR.
In most cases COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR works late after the engine gets too much hot.
Wash radiator.
Chaneg thermostat valve.
Thermostat valve is a must in LIANA. Otherwise the COOLANT will not flow towards CYLINDER HEAD and will cause overheating and brunt IGNITION COILS and IGNITION PLUGS.
Make sure all the ports of engine and HEATER RADIATOR IN THE DASHBOARD are open and COOLANT flow is continuous.
All electrical functions should work properly. Especially 2 SPEED FANS.
MOST IMPORTANT
Water should reach properly to the COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR otherwise it will cause a delay in increase in the speed of the RADIATOR FANS and all the SENSORS should work properly without any ERROR CODES and CHECK ENGINE LIGHT.
