I have followed this thread with a lot interest. I feel there are 3 groups of people here…the genuine bike aficionados, some corporate hawks and some idiots like yours truly. The thread has been degenerated like very few I’ve seen.
Japanese makers have been in Pakistan since the early 1960s. I’ve seen small capacity bikes all over the world, especially Asian countries. What is being sold to us, ARE DINASAURS BY ANY STANDARD….local parts…Chinese parts….Japanese parts....whatever.
Cast iron liners, spoke wheels, kick starter, drum front brake, all antiquities…after the 1980s.
Spare part vendors are considered business partners all over the world, here; they are mostly corporate slaves, zero development for the part half a century. Cottage industries I tell you.
What portion corporate revenue is spent on R&D IN Pakistan – close to nothing I’d guess….go figure the math!!
Much is said about rising material costs. That’s the current situation. What about the boom in the past 6-8 years? The market has grown exponentially. What value was added for the customer? What value was added to the corporation………sshhhh
DYL copied CD70, big deal. It’s the blind leading the blind.
