Assalaamu 'Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh Everyone
We have two cars Suzuki Swift DLX 2012 and Suzuki Alto L 2015. Now we are thinking to get Toyota Yaris GLi Manual (base model) which is perfect and more than enough for us. Now we cannot decide which one should we keep it. Now, of course, we are not gonna sell and buy it right now until the virus situation is over.
Suzuki Swift DLX 2012
We have this car for about 5 years and it has almost 60,000 km and it's used by my family members for an office and sometimes I use it for university. The only thing we replaced was its ABS Module 2 years ago. I also checked the compression through my compression tool reading and they are also fine. Fuel consumption is perfectly fine, though it's a bit hight in cost to maintain and fix it, but it's worth doing it.
Based on the standard readings from the internet:
Standard 14.0 kg/cm2 / 200 rpm
Minimum 11.0 kg/cm2 / 200 rpm
Compression differential limit between cylinders 1.0 kg/cm2 / 200 rpm
Cylinders from left to right:
Even it's eight years old the car runs perfectly fine.
Suzuki Alto 2015 L
We have this car for 3 years. It has 17,000 km and it's my first car. It had 5,000 km when it was purchased which I don't think it's authentic even it's written in the auction sheet and any other source. The car was running well until 6 months later when it started to have various technical issues like ABS and ESP. Later, the Start/Stop system doesn't work anymore after replacing the battery that isn't compatible with this system. Another issue is it has a warped passenger airbag cover (even though they aren't equipped with it) which I am sure it's a design flaw. I'm been fixing that cover for 3 years and it still doesn't hold up.
Maintenance is low in cost but it has below average fuel consumption for a Kei car, that's likely because of the battery. To be honest, I was forced to buy this car which later stressed my life.
It may be just 5 years old car, but it feels clunky.
