Local UPS are bulky, heavy, and consume a significant amount of electricity themselves. Plus, they overcharge the battery and reduce its life.
Imported UPS (invertors) are lightweight (0.5-1kg), small (the side of a medium-sized book), and utilise IC's and electronic chips. They consume very little current, and can work on low-voltage (140-160volts) too, plus they don't overcharge. And the output is Sine-wave in pattern (good for computers and sensitive equipment).
I have installed 2 of them at different places in the last 2 years. Recently installed a 3rd one in a relatives' house.
Available in 12V and 24V (the latter needs two batteries), and 2 fans/4lights or 4fans/4lights output.
2 years back they were new and little expensive than local ones, but now after 2 years of experience they have become popular and at same price (or cheaper) than local ones.
The latest price for 4fans/tubelights is 8000 (24v) and 8500 (12v). 24v needs two batteries (100amp=6500X2), 12v needs one battery (195amp=11000).
Warranty: 1 year for UPS, 6 months for battery.
Total cost: UPS 8500+Battery 11000+installation 1000=20500.
The guy is in Saddar, he delivers and installs on a single phone call with payment on delivery. After sales support is also very good.
I would personally recommend this device if you want to install UPS.
