this thing has to be rectified from the "top" level.. im not supporting the people demanding insane prices of their cars.. i too have experienced similar situation when i was out to buy a cuore in 2005, even then the 2 year old cuores were being demanded more than the ex-factory price.. why? the indus motors was giving delivery period of 12 months back then, i repeat 12 months while there was about 80,000- 100,000 OWN on Cuore.. so whoever was to buy a new one had to pay an additional 100,000 rupees in the name of OWN or had to wait for 12 months to get the delivery.. i ended up buying a used Cultus..
Stop this OWN/ Premium thingy, generate better competitive market by allowing more n more manufacturers, choices will be more, competition will develop, delivery time will come down, concept of own money will vanish, and thus the prices of used cars will come down to a realistic level. No one would dare to ask insane amount of used cars..
i think its still not reasonable to blame a seller when we are happy to pay 8 lac 70 thousand for an outdated, feature ripped cuore ecomatic, 5 lac 70 something for Mehran VXR CNG thinking they are new, we should ask ourselves the same question in the title post whether its logical to pay such an hefty amount for a lousy car..
