1. Rare break screaming issue:
I was facing an issue of screaming sound in rare wheel brakes. One of mechanic told me to get new brake shoes, another one told me to either change the plate or purchased some local custom made brake shoes.
Finally issue is resolved by just applying grease. Mechanic did the following,
- Took out the plate and remove the brake shoes.
- Also took out the lever (including the stud).
- Applied grease on brake shoe springs, on the stud surface.
- Take a blade (normally to cut iron pipes) and made few scratches on the shoe surface.
Thats it.
It has 2 months now and no screaming sound anymore. I hope this will resolve other's problem too.
2. Clutch handling:
Some people including myself was facing difficulties with clutch release at bike pick. It has been resolved for me atleast. Mechanic just set the mixture to appropriate level, previously mixture was rich then required. Mixture setting was done after checking clutch setting itself.
3. Rare tyre touches mud guard.
I must say that it is not a problem rather than jump adjustment. I normally drive single so I do not face such issue only incase some heavy member is sitting behind me. Recently I adjusted my jumps and no issue face even with heavy person sitting behind. Jumps get little harder but still they are comfortable.
Yes I do agree that mud guard is too close to tyre but this is benefitial I think in grip wise but not sure. I am saying this in the perspective of a lowered car greater road grip.
4. Faulty speedometer:
Generaly people complaint about faulty speedometer but I have not found the same. It is giving me accurate speed and kms readings. I am saying this after comparison with other bikes and cars.
5. Faulty CDI unit:
I do not believe in this. CDI unit is not faulty. But I saw people complaining about this and I found the main reason as; bike service at stations and alterations in wiring by some non-expert electrician.
CDI unit is under the petrol tank and during service water reaches CDI unit. People start their bikes and due to moisture CDI get short. The suzuki bikes specialist told me this and there is no faulty CDI units.
6. Seating Position:
I. saw few people complaining about discomfort sitting position on Standard (non eco) sprinter. Well this is upto you, I have no such issue infact it is more upright which reduced strain in your shoulder and at your back and enjoy a much better ride.
7. Head Light issue:
Genuine or company fitted headlights are made of plastic so they have shorter life. Melt after after few years or incase of halogen, melts rather quickly. I have replaced company fitted headlight with honda 1982 - 86 (round light). Glass with metal beam. Issue resolved with some good light after installing halogen.
In the end parts are bit expensive but are quality product as they are genuine. So less visits to mechanics. Lastly, I tried different oils be it Castrol Active, Caltex havoline, Zic but I found Shell and Castrol Active on top. Nice and smooth ride.
