I would recommend you to find a good condition well maintained Landcruiser as it will be your first jeep.
Also elaborate your purpose first, i.e. offroading, northern areas trips, city driving, daily runner etc.
Prado
1KD(2000-2002) is not suitable for the high sulphur diesel available in Paksitan, 3RZFE i.e. 2700 cc is way underpower specially if you plan to but 5 dr Prado the only option remains is 5VZFE i.e. 3400 cc petrol.
1KZ(96-99) is fuel thirsty although it suits our local diesel but gives 5-6 km/l in city and 8-8.5 km/l max.
Landcruiser having 4200cc diesel engines gives you alost the same mileage if you get a part time 4wd.
For example:
I know a very clean LC80, and its not JDM Import rather its Zero Meter Indus Import very rare to find but the good thing is that its part time 4wd, 95% of LC80 are full time 4wd bit heavy on fuel, its also 5 speed manual, its fully equipped with cool box, dual fuel tanks of 135 litres deisel for long travel, sunroof, 7 seater, dual AC, VX trim, in short its something every offroader love to have as its combination of solid axles rigidity with all the modern facilities and comfort of coil springs. The owner sold it for 22 to his best friend and then retreived and has now ordered an Ironman lift kit for it and it is his daily driven vehicle, he gets 7-7.5km/l in city and 9 on motorway @ 100-110km/h due to part time 4wd and manual transmission, What I mean to say a good and well maintained SUV will cost you above average priced SUV in the market.
The problem while searching for jeeps is that you will find mostly tempered vehicles either body change or book of some other auctioned vehicle etc. try to avoid auctioned vehicles as most of them are tempered or atleast abused and fully sprayed.
What I did is I made search and understood how to decode VIN (Vehicle identification number) or in layman terminology biscuit plate. Although its some what tedious job to understand but if you can do it chances of getting cheated will reduce considerably.
