AOA Friends,
As per Title Snow chain is not easily available for Bikes & need some expert to make over.. So for up coming adventure we start looking for alternative how to ride in snow....Because snow Tyre with spikes are not avilb so we need some solution to ride in snow surface...
Visited City sadar road to find solution, discuses with some friends who know the guy who sell chains for cars.. So decided to meet him to make some thing for bike...Sound crazy but shok da koi mul nahi....Jamshed is very famous at city saddar for snow chains for cars we show him bike & magic happen..
He have three different sizes all imported & brand new snow chains...But as per my bike #50 snow chain will be fixed & yes it was very easy to remove & mount..... Not tested yet in snow run few km on road & results seems good... for more practical waiting for snow ride then share results...
It cost me 4k for 1 pair (front & back) This is one solution ....
But the real adventure start when searching some alternative of this chain... Many things we try like ...
Starting from Snow Cable ties, Timing belt, Steel wires, Ropes etc... But all are not Practical to ride long distance so we found chain is best but 2 types of chain are in the market one with spot welding & one without so conclusion comes that for snow only spot welding will work & not open on hard surface... will share pics for both Rings.
But important thing i want to share is that we are more concern about two things 1 cost & 2nd solution should be practical... Good news Experiments end on the very good node.. happy the devil brain works...
We dont want to damage the rims as so found steel wire with plastic coating with different sizes all will work because strong enough to bear hard road... ...
1) Steel Wire with plastic coating 25 feet (initially & cut into pieces as per your Tyre & rim size = 12rs/feet
2) Locks easily avilb for these types of cable = 8rs X 1
3) Spot welded chain = 280/Kg
Cut chain as per you Tyre outer size, In my case 10 rings will work, Twist wire into chain & then fit on the bike using locks. 12 Rings are enough for one rim... You are ready to go ....
Over all cost for both Tyre is 700rs only ..... Happy ending...Hope you guys like this ...
