Just wondering why there aren't too many convertibles being imported in Pakistan, even though many great models are available in the market. I believe it's an untapped market waiting to be explored.
I searched Autorader.co.uk and used following criteria: Price = 10000 GBP, up to 3 years old. Most of these cars had less that 20,000 miles on them and cost between 5-8000 pounds.
Following great cars showed up which I've listed under various Engine sizes:
Upto 1000 cc: Daihatsu Copen, Smart ForTwo & Roadster (all of them are 2-seaters)
1001 - 1300 cc: Suzuki Jimmy (4-seater), Vauxhall Tigra (2-seater)
1301 - 1500 cc: VolksWagon Beetle (4-seater), Mitsubishi Colt (4-seater), Citreon C3 (4-seater), Vauxhall Tigra (2-seater)
1501 - 1600 cc: Mini Cooper (4-seater), Peugeot 206 (4-seater), Renault Megane (4-seater), Ford Ka (2-seater)
Besides these convertibles, some great cars are avilable with Panoramic Roofs (Fiat 500, Mini Cooper, Mercedez A150). I specially liked Fiat 500. It's a great small car, probably Mini Cooper's rival.
I was also wondering why Audi A3s and BMW 1 series are not being imported in Pakistan since they offer affordable luxury.
Some other worth mentioning cars with sun roofs are listed below:
1001 - 1300 cc: Fiat 500, Mazda RX-8
1301 - 1500 cc: Smart ForFour, Honda Jazz, Mercedez A150, Rover 1.4, MG Trophy, Seat Ibiza
1501 - 1600 cc: Alfa Romao Lusso, Audi A3, BMW 1-series, Mazda 3, Mini Cooper, Peugeot 207, 307 & 407
1601 - 1800 cc: Mercedez C200K, SLK & CLK, Volvo S40, Audi A3

2% depcreciation per month can reduce the duty. The maximum reduction possible is 50%. (Too bad, Fiat 500 was only introduced in 2008, can't claim maximum depreciation for now).
