Full procedure of Fedral ETO is as below
One gets his car registered he gets a paper based registration copy which is only valid for a month or three month period till the Showroom or company gives cross verification about the chasis and engine to the ETO
after that verification one must go to ETO office and return the paper based registation copy to ETO and gets the orignal registration book "RED BOOK",
But if the registration copy gets lost you can issue red book again on publishing one add in newspaper about the lost of your car registration book, one FIR copy in your nearest police station some fee and little bribe, you gets a new RED BOOK with small DUPLICATE printed on its first page in red font.
SORRY probably its little bit out of topic thingy but i wanted to tell this as most of our brothers are not aware of the whole procedure. This red book is applicable to all computerise fedral registations.
and about punjab and other cities i am also not aware. Sorry again
