im surprized ppl dont know a jack bout things, still they pass on information to needy ppl with so much confidence. other than the opinion of takko and to some extent chinyoti above, all are wrong.
@chinyoti, AA series is another thing (which u r referring) and 'AA' number was another thing.
A car used to get an 'AA' number plate in any of the following:
- earlier, when a car was snatched/stolen and an FIR was lodged against this incident, and if in case later on tht car is recovered and handed over bak to the original owner, he was required to get it re-registered and thus this new registration was of 'AA' number.
-similarly, in those days, if one or both number plates were stolen or missing, u need to get ur car re-registered and thus again 'AA' number.
but now this practice is no longer prevelant rather now u get the same number with new plates mentioning 'duplicate' on them.
cars with 'AA' number hav lower resale value.
