A friend of mine recently bought a car from someone else. The previous owner was the 2nd owner of the car. After he bought it he realised he didnt take the original number plates. He called the second owner who said that the buyer (it was a jeep he made) didnt bother to get license plates from customs/excise and just made a custom one.So what can he do now? If he goes to islamabad office to have a new one made will it be a duplicate or a first one? Also can these be made from outside on our own?
get an FIR lodged. take it to the Excise n Taxation Office and they will issue you will issue duplicate plates in 2-3 weeks. cost under 1k if u do it urself maybe 500 only. if u task the agents outside they will charge around 3k. n also use the search function as this has been discussed many times before!!! all the best
Correct
Your friend didn't bother to check if number plates were original?
Thanks for the replies. So can he have a lookalike made from outside? Or will he have to go through this whole procedure?
look alike of the plate is hard to make and none of no plate makers can do that besides do share some details of the carmake model etcreg cityas per my knowledge isloo got comp reg plates in late 2004 so if the car is older then 04 then with custom made plate its not a problem
The jeep is a 2010 registered Mutt. Its registered in Islamabad. Which is also why i was hopeful that duplicates could be made externally as the Islamabad number plate is significantly simpler than punjab, sindh.
Does the duplicate number plates effect the value of car while selling.
