The Motorway Experience !!!
So finally Hawkzel got her first chance to hit our country's best available long road .. M2 .. Needless to say i was very excited. First drive on motorway on your new car is always something which one looks forward to and it was no different for me. There were a few things which i was excited to experience. Few unanswered questions subconsciously bothering me. How would the 1.5L engine respond on various speeds? How would the handling and cornering be on KalarKahar Salt Range? How would it go from 140-180kmph? How would the road noise be at constant higher speeds? How would the mileage figures turn out to be?
3 hours of drive and all my mind's thirst quenched .. It were 3 hours of immense joy, 3 hours of fun, 3 hours of adrenaline and ultimately 3 hours of satisfaction - AlhamdoLillah . 1.5L earth dreams from honda does not disappoint you on long run. In fact, far from it, it soothes your nerves and makes your journey quite effortless on Vezel.
Traction control is great and my experience on Kalarkahar salt range was pure rush !! some corners were at speeds you would never even dare attempt on 1.8L sedans. Handling is absolutely superb at all speeds. She never lets you feel not in control.
One letdown for me was the inability to set cruise control above 110kmph. Apparently it is due to the highway speed limits in Japan.
Now the question that must be on everyone's mind right now. What are the mileage figures ?? Well, what i did was i took 20km runs at various speeds from lahore to bhera. And the Mileage figures exceeded my expectations specially at higher speeds for a 1.5L engine. They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Here's 6 of them
At 160kmph in 7th gear, The RPM was at 4400 ...
P.S. I dont endorse high speeding or rash driving in any way. These tests were done taking into consideration many possible safety precautions ( Recitation of Dua, car essentials check up before hitting motorway, seat belts, clear passage, good visibility. skillfull driver etc )
