But i was in for a surprise .. i was just cruising at 130kmph in the middle lane when i noticed in my side mirror 2 vehicles approaching at higher speeds .. 2011 reborn and and 2014 Altis grande ... Apparently they were both in a showdown .. they must be around 150kmph when they reached to overtake me .. i switched to sports mode and picked Hawkzel up from their behind and before hitting 180kmph, Hawkzel was about 10 meters ahead both of them .. Simply amazing ... Im now convinced that when it comes to torque, low or high end, vezel competes with 2.0L to 2.5L gasoline category .. and when you cuddle her with love, she'll love you back by giving amazing mileage figures ... AlhamdoLillah so proud of the choice and decision i made
imagine i take this baby to the runway every other day ...man its a fun machine more so coz it surprises you often as i didnt exactly buy her for her sporty features...

just a suggestion: remove those Japanese auction house pics from main post, and put any better and fresh image, like that one taken in DC studio...
and in main post, pages for following are missing:

    City Mileage figures - Page
Dr Zac's Theory of Resale Economic Relativity - Page

hi, been a silent observer of this thread and admired your car, masha allah beautiful car, what got me interested into posting are your post of detailing related stuff nice purchases,

btw as a technical person, wanted to ask there have been multiple recalls issued for honda vezel hybrid and the honda fit hybrid on which the vezel is based, due to problems with the transmission, one gripe i always had with such JDM cars is lack of any technical support and backup, does your car come within this recall or have you thought about it. this is the third recall issued for it.

Thanks a lot .. well, the recalls have been most for Fit Hybrid .. and its a software glitch not transmission issue .. On large part maximum recalls were in early 2014 .. the vehicles which come on auction do have their software updated from Honda Japan .. a very unlucky person would get a grade vezel with any issue as the chances are very remote .. and software of vezel now available in pakistan with a couple of people i know personally so even in case of any malfunction God Forbid, not an issue ... and recalls is nothing new .. prius and even porsches have recalls due to minor glitches .. i wont advise anyone against vezel based on this ... Hope i answered your query

Firstly, congratulations on your purchase. Its not only a beautiful car but is also very practical because of its size and fuel economy. I am sure it will give you years of pleasurable drive, inshallah.
Since this is a public forum I would also like to highlight a few observations pertaining to this car which are purely my own thoughts, but i am sharing them since the discussion is open.
Firstly, the car looked much more decent with its stock rims and wheel covers The ones you've chosen do not suit the sober personality of this car. And the problem just begins here... In my humble opinion, the OFFSET of these rims is non-standard. I am quite sure just by the look of the negatively offset rims that your ride quality and characteristics have been compromised by these rims. Anyway, the choice remains yours, but if i were you Id certainly do some research on them.
Secondly, you should expect quite a lot of depreciation in the resale value of this car as time progresses. The question isn't whether you can afford to book that loss or not.. The question is, should you? The problem with most hybrids is that the savings in fuel cost are mostly off-set in advance with the enhanced price of the car. Even substantial savings in running costs will typically not be enough to match the price differential.
Your car being a 1.5 is probably the most expensive 1.5 car available at the moment. Since you've spent so much money on it, and that you could afford that sort of money, fuel saving isnt probably even one of your major concerns. So why save money on fuel which you will end up losing on the resale value of the car?
Also, one major drawback which you haven't mentioned...the 0-60 time which you have mentioned is for a fully charged battery pack, and you will learn that it is always not possible to keep the charge up at 100 percent all the time. For example, if a conventional petrol powered car would do 0-60 in say 10 seconds, it would continue to do so in ten consecutive runs. However if you floor your vezel in sports mode it would completely deplete the hybrid battery very quickly, and it would need to get recharged through slow driving and regenerative braking in subsequent runs. In short, if you drag race a comparable petrol car over a long distance, chances are that you will lag behind after your initial gain, as your battery loses its juice and power is transferred to the weaker-than-conventional atkinson -cycle engine. Would you still love your hybrid as much even in that situation?
lastly, parts are an issue. So is service. I hope you have some solutions for them...

First of all thank you so much for appreciating and congratulating me and yes its a public forum and you have every right to share your reservations about the car if you have any .. and i shall try to address your concerns to the best of my knowledge, intellect and ability ..
I did a lot of research in each and every department when purchasing this car and after market mods .. rims were thoroughly investigated .. from offset to center bore and every detail of upsizing .. mine do have a slightly lower offset than stock but then again i wanted to upsize by 2 inches and the lower offset fits the bill in that situation ... my friend got his vezel few days back and ive driven his with stock 16's few times .. lemme tell you and my friend can personally verify that upsizing with branded 18's and 225 profile has given the car way more stability and driving pleasure than stock .. the reason i think is related to the lighter weight of vezel chassis ...
Then lets come to the RESALE thing .. time and again, i hear concerns of this school of thought about resale of a JDM as compared to PKDM .. before i begin i wanna clarify one thing .. i do not belong to the most affluent or elite class of this country .. upper middle class is where i stand at the moment economically ( ALhamdoLillah ) ... so it was my full stretch budget with which i was able to afford this with all my savings put in .. so VALUE LOSS does matter to me ... but WHAT IS VALUE ?? that is very very subjective .. for people who share your school of thought, its loss in terms of monetary value ... what about loss in quality?? loss in value for money?? loss in satisfaction?? loss in the very concept of owning what you truly love?? all these things might not sound practical to you, but they have to count for something rite ?? and even for the sake of argument we analyze purely on monetary loss, lets analyze a hypothetical scenario .. ill take civic 9th gen PKDM(which i upgraded from) and vezel .. civic gave me a loss of 150000 in 1.5 years ... and it gives mileage of 11-12 kmpl in city on average unless you hypermile to the extreme .. lets say one sells civic after 3 years after driving it 70000kms .. total loss ( depreciation 3-4 lacs, fuel cost 445000 pkr @70/ltr ) pkr 745000 .... and one sells vezel after 3 years and driving 70000kms .. total loss ( 6-7 lacs depreciation, fuel cost 222000 pkr @ 70/ltr ) pkr 822000 ... difference is negligible when you take all the other aspects of the equation .. and this is where my threads last section will address as well InshAllah about resale psychology..
Now, lets come to 0-100 timings and battery charging capacity and time .. the factors you ve mentioned are true for prius and even honda's previous gen hybrids, but lemme personally tell you this is not at all the case with vezel .. it has fast charge and very slow depletion .. i had a complete run on sports mode with paddle shift from pindi to islamabad and back few nights ago and still it had 20 percent battery left .. and within few minutes in normal mode it went to 80 percent .. secondly, it doesnt matter in vezel if your battery is 100 percent or 20 percent ... as long as it isnt completely depleted(which is almost impossible to happen) 0-100 timings remain the same .. i personally invite you to visit and verify this fact whenever you want
Yes spare parts are limited in local market at the moment but the amount of vezels pouring in, its just a matter of time before they're here at least in 4 larger cities .. worst case scenario in case of need God Forbid, it takes 20 days for shipment from japan .. maintenance parts it shares with Fit Hybrid and are available ..
I hope i was able to address your observations .. thanks for the feedback .. cheers
