    Default vitz AC??

is vitz AC supposed to be unlike Toyota AC?? cuz mine is abit sluggish on startup and idle positions... but it starts kicking in and taking off once the car starts moving and then it gets quite better once the car is on-roll i.e. long drives / intercity-long-drives .. but as soon as u stop or go idle.. the AC starts detoriorating the conditioning ... is it supposed to be like that.. or do i need to get my AC belt checked??

i went to toyota rawal... and they thoroughly checked my AC and said its perfect and needs no maintainence... mine has done 60k odo ..

my guess is maybe the AC belt needs tightening or replacement? or maybe generator needs soem fixing ??

i recently got my car checked for 60k odo .. heres the link

does ur car vibrate when its ideling? if it vibrates then it need tuning or plug change. when have u last changed ur plugs and cleaned throttle body? do u have CNG in it?

Ac requires a certain level of rpm to operate and if its not getting the required rpms then AC trips at ideling and stops working..

its normal for all cars, including vitz. however if it seriously goes dowm on idel then there may be a prb, if its just a minor change then its normal.

i am soory to say but no body gave you the solution..

There are couple of thing sthat needs to be done.

You A/C Works dine when you car is in motion and poor when idle...If So..

Then tell me if for how long it trips, in idle....

LEt me give you a proper solution.

    Try the following:

When the outside temperature is hot, and at idle your A/C is not working, turn on your A/c, and wash the radiator thoroughly and when you are sure that radiator fins are all wet, get inside the car and check for cooling ....check the difference...

If this works..tell me i"ll give the solution.

    Regards

Saraab, what you've said, happens with my car. When the AC is not cooling properly at idle, spraying some water at the radiator and the condensor makes it cool much better.

    easy.. For all cars....

Just go to your mechanic... have your radiator removed..There is a general term used by mechanics calledc"chemical wash". Actually what they do is they make a very dilute solution of acid, any readily available, like toilet cleaing solution.

After removing the radiator ...they whah it with that solution and BINGO.

Also condensor needs to be cleaned in the same manner, except that its not removed other wise refrigerent will be lost.

theory is that Radiator fins get clogged with dust and moisture hardens it. hence heat transfer area is reduced. Thus less effective cooling. Simple.

Remember have this done only by and expert..

I,by the way, do it myself.

you are VERY lucky if TOYOTA people said you don't need to change anything.

as for the a/c, atiq bhai has the same problem with his. got it serviced, no improvement. got a filter out of the dashboard panel changed, still nothing. strange thing is he says it was working perfectly fine in Carachi last year.

Seems like a weak compressor but this can also be service issue.

What you can do is get your whole a/c System serviced they will take apart everything clean em and fit them back and replace any faulty things.

Kharcha will be around 2000 Rs.
Speed costs money, how fast can you afford to go.

    No offence..

But please tell me one thing..

If it work fines while moving around and not while idle..then how come A/c needs servicing?

for such sort of problems...The very first thing is to check for rediator, condensor surface. If clean, fine ..

If not then thats the problem.

In this case his fins are clean..as he say....so This must be a compressor related issue...A Weak compressor...When moving compressor rpm increases, it wworks much harder and you feel the difference. Since Vitx are 6-7 years old ...this could be the root cause..

But anywwaay before spending 20,000 on new compressor ..its wise to have you A/c Unit thoroughly serviced.
