    Default Cng for vitz 2006

    Hi Guys:

I want to buy a 2006 reg 2009 Toyota Vitz. I know the parts being expensive story. I can live with that but cannot afford Petrol. So Just wanted to have an idea can it run on CNG. Someone told me Yes but it will create automatic transmission issues. Please comment. How does the car perform on CNG?

    Sir

Go for the OMEGAS lendirenzo SIS CNG, use a lightweight faber cylinder of 50Kg, use air controller (very hard to find), always keep your air filter clean, clean your spark plugs regularly or upgrade to NGK Platinums, keep your battery and wires in good condition, do not block air intake and last but not least PLEASE do not alter your suspensions in anyway with spacers or hard springs.

Get a professional installer or I will recommend you 1.

I am an experienced CNG User running 2005 Vitz 1.0L Auto, Accord CA4 1.6L Manual, 05 GLI, 07 Alto FF CNG and 05 Civic EXI PROSMATEC.

Please recommend someone for the conversion and if possible please give a cost idea. The cost should make sense to justify the conversion.
Your suggestions are understandable and apply for any cng car. thanks.

    Sir

    Try that cell, 0321 9210703.

    Contact person is Mr Babar.

Cannot give you the estimate, all depends on the equipment.

I think it would be around 40-50K for OMEGAS and 25-35K for ordinary.

The person is reasonable, He will give you the estimate.

    Thanks.

By the way what is the KM per liter average for a 2006 Vitz. I have come to know two extreme answers. Some say 8Km/Litre others say 14KM. Can you give me the ans based on your practical experience of keeping a vitz.

Also for example on a 50KG cylinder how many Km should it run?

Please dont go for CNG. You will end up with a high cost of engine breakdown. I owned vitz new shape. Its 3 cylinder. You will be crying with cng.. Rest your wish. Sell it off if you cant afford Petrol on it. Buy a Cuore which gives an excellent mileage

    @akkazi

    Sir

I have the previous gen vitz, 1.0L Auto, 75K done, 10Km/ltr (A/C) in city, around 15km/ltr(Highway).

50Kg CNG 80km with A/C city driving previously, now with OMEGAS around 105 km in city.

I do not use overdrive in city, do use overdrive on highways, but only on petrol.

CNG does need more maintenance, of sparks, oils and filters.

    Regards

    Thank you everyone.

This forum was really very useful. My conclusion would be to drop the idea of buying a Vitz inspite of its luxuries. If I should not convert it to CNG and petrol average is 8-10Km/liter its simply not worth it.

    @akkazi

Sir petrol average is not 8-10km.

its 10-12km (city) in every well kept vitz 1st generation 4 cylinder, 2nd generation Vitz has a newer 3 cylinder engine with increased efficiency and is more environment friendly with a better aerodynamic shape, its fuel consumption must be even lower.

vitz is many times better then local cars (except 7th gen CIVIC), no matter you compare reliability, efficiency, braking, suspensions, Active (ABS, airbags) and passive safety (torsional rigidity, crash structure), road holding and interior comfort.

parts are expensive, but I never need one in 3 years (75K KMS), except for side mirrors and its assembly (stolen), which was still less expensive then a 2009 GLI.

after driving, all the below mentioned cars for 5-6 years, if I have to live with 1 one car, excluding the CA4 Accord, it would be definitely a Vitz or VTI (very tough decision though).

2005 Vitz 1.0L Auto (family car)
Accord CA4 1.6L Manual. (my car)
    2005 GLI.(brother's car)
2007 Alto FF CNG (brothers car)
2005 Civic EXI PROSMATEC. (father's car)
    2006 2.0D Saloon (office car)

you should reconsider, you will regret your decision.

A car should be owned on its merits not by opinions, besides local cars are so expensive that one cant even buy a new decently equipped Cultus in around 850K in these days.

    regards

    Default Kamran Vitz 2007

I think two months ago, I have purchased Vitz 2007 petrol....and amazingly it's giving me an averge of 13.5-14KM per litre in city.

Besides I often go to Hyderabad--and you would believe that it gives me an average of 16-18km per litre......or even better!

So the info u recieved of giving 8-10km per litre.....i think is not right!

Its a luxury car and gives u arround 5 rupees per km.
As per the registration book, its a four cylender car...and I think CNG creates problem in three cylender car.....Guys! I welcome your comments in this regard!

    Regards,
    Kamran Hussain

would mess up the gear and that is not something that'll surely come after long; stationary haults at traffic lights will cause severe vibration.

Guys CNG doesnt work in 2nd Gen Vitz coz of its CVT Transmission. its the same transmission that's used in City Vario. this transmission is not compatible with CNG, and over time, ur transmission starts to give way. its signs are grrrrr........ sound when u put it in forward or reverse, & car doesnt move for 2-3 seconds (even with full accelerator pressed) i can tell by experience, coz we had a Vario once, on CNG, and it started developing this problem. we immediately got the cng removed and the problem didn't get worse. another friend had to same issue & ignored it, & had to get the entire transmission done from Honda, costed him roughly 75k (in 2007)

So all i can say is please don't get cng in ur Vitz 2006-onward. either go for a 1st Gen Vitz, or some other car.
