    A bit off topic since there is a bit of discussion going on related to safety, i'd like to add even with air bags there are certain guidelines that should be followed.

    The funniest thing i see is very small children standing on floor ahead of front seat almost touching the wind screen and driver driving like there is no tomorrow.

    ================================================== ======

    Airbags are safer and more effective when used properly. The following are recommendations from Safercar.gov, a consumer resource provided by the U.S. federal government:

    Wear seat belts at all times

    Sit at least 10 inches back from the hub of the steering wheel

    Aim the airbag at your chest, not at your head

    Transport children (1 to 13 years old) seat-belted in child safety seats, booster seats or safety belts suitable to their age and size

    Transport children in the back seat whenever possible

    Transport children in the front seat only when absolutely necessary and only with the seat pushed as far back as it can go and the airbag turned off, if possible

    Never transport a child under one year old in the front seat of a vehicle

    =================================================

    Other common airbag-related injuries

    no hard feelings..........

    now thats a educated man, u noe if ure not wearing seat belts an airbag can actualy kill u. or atleast cause a neck injury.
    Get over the fact that Xli lacks power windows, Its an Xli because it lacks thoose features or else it would be a Gli or an Altis if had all the goodies.

    i wish there was somethign better that we could do, something more constructive,.. but this is PK where i've found that peopel only react when somethign affects their wallets,.. so boycotting sub-standard cack is the only thing we can do in hope that they improve their products.

    but as i said before, if there is no other option, this is the only one to go for in this price range,.. as i always say, "go for the safest possible option"

    swift is by far the best hatchback assembled locally, much much better than cultus, alto, santro and adam revo. and sometimes buying a used/imported car is not an option, especially for ppl or companies who have to get the car on lease etc. so for them swift is the best possible option.

    othewise vitz is much better than locally assembled swift in almost every aspect except the engine displacement. (which cannot actually be considered a negative). and the shape is more of a matter of personal liking so i cannot say which one is actually better.

    as far as the actual question of the original poster is concerned, i think the price of vitz has decreased significantly after the launch of the swift. (a friend visited the jail rd marked told me that he found vitz 2005-6 for 800k to 850k. previously ppl were asking in excess of 1000k for them
