    Default Turboing Vitz 1SZFE?

    Have plans to change my vitz 2003 with something faster so another thing came in to mind that why not to turbo my current ride as its very reliable,stylish and having great safety features and i really love it.
    so want experts to suggest me that is that a good idea to put turbo on it's original 1SZ-FE engine?at how much boost can it run safely,without leaving any damage to the engine.
    pls if someone can leave the list of the parts i have to buy,which turbo will suit it the best and other parts with the rough estimate including installation charges,that'd be great!
    and after turbo installation i'll convert automatic transmission to manual to get full out of it.

    i know that but its hard to find and expensive too so wanted to make my car fast and it'll be enough for me after having turbo
    i read somewhere that its engine can be drove at around 10 psi easily!
    afterall 1SZFE is the engine of the year 1999.

    Aoa! bro u have a good idea certainly,u could go with ct9 turbo and u can find it easily from shershah market around for 10k including wastegate probably headers aswell.
    u can run in between 6-8psi(max) of boost on stock internals without damaging the motor.
    with turbo bro following are the parts u'l need!
    turbo
    wastegate
    intercooler
    braided lines
    fpr
    fuel pump(probably 12.5v would be a good1)
    braided oil supply lines
    air intake
    custom made headers
    high flow fuel injectors
    bypass valve
    performance spark plugs.

    bro prices may vary from shop to shop brand to brand so cant give out an exact idea about them.just wait till our experts from karachi show up so that they can contribute their valuable suggestions too. Turboing Vitz 1SZFE? - 000203FB

    bro u cant get the exact power gain map cz for that u have to dyno the car for exact power band map then minor tweaks can be done for increasing or fine tunning the hp curve.a rough idea is around 20-25hp and that does makes some real difference

    running more than 6psi is probably a bad idea if you want 100% reliability on the 1SZ, however you can go a little higher as well but for that you'd have to start swapping out internals. personally i think even 6Psi is good for the car and it'll be alot faster. You're looking at around 95hp+ with 6psi on a 68hp engine - almost the same as the naturally aspirated 2NZ-FE.

    However i'd suggest going for a garrett T2 turbo (like on the HKS kit) rather than a CT9. The volvo 480 & Fiesta RS used a T2 so if you have someone in europe who can source you one you will not have to spend alot on the conversion.

    Swap in 1nzfe or for some serious gains 4efte since boosting 1szfe will cost a bit low then swapin in a 4efte but gain will be alot

    Firstly afzal, as your car is auto so converting it into manual will be an issue as you wont find manual tr of 1sz that easy.

    Second part is of turbo.
    Combining both, cost will raise to minimum 70k.

    What i recomend you is swap in 1.8 vvti altis engine with some nominal alteration. Its an awsome project which i too have planned to do one day.

    Anyways, a friend's friend have done a 1.8 non vvti swap in vitz and is running good. May be wasay ahmed will guide you further on swapping 1.8 in your vitz.
    Later engine bay of vitz is big enough and you can put a turbo in it as well.

    Well As 1SZ-Fe Is Bit On Higher Side....!!So You Can't Shove In Too Much Boost Else Your Internals Will Be On Risk For Sure....!!
    Running 5-6Psi Is MAxxx To Be On Safest Side....And 8 Psi To Be ON Last....!
    Regarding Turbo So You Can Use Either Some Small Garret Turbo Or CT-9 Is A Very Common Thing You Can Find In Shershah...!!
    Regarding Other Things So Keep In Mind That VITZ fuel Injectors Can't Be Pressurized Using FPR........Since There's No Return Line....So You Directly Need A Big Pump To Meet Your Fuel Needs....!!
    Thing That Will Be Most Hectic Is Dealing With MAF Sensor...Dodging It Is One Hell Job....!!
    All Other Things Can Be Done But These Are Basic Ground Realities You Need To Care 1st....!!
    I Would Suggest To Do Proper Home Work Before Starting Any Of This Work....!! It Can Be Dangerous Tricky Time + Money Consuming Job
    Beside This You Need Lots Of Small Bits To Complete This Project
    If You Are Not So Turbo Freak.....!! You Can Also Think About Swapping 1NZ

    4EFTE will be a ideal choice for you. In near future you can take it much more higher.

    I had a lot of problems with the MAF( AIR MASS METER ) so to trick that off i got myself a AIR MASS METER COMPENSATOR it helps u dodge the computer and you can adjust the boost of your turbo and set the MAF compensator accordingly

    i dont know about toyota but for audi it wasant that expensive it costed me 40 pounds but that did the trick

    thanx for sharing ur ideas and if i'd been installing turbo in my current engine then would have been surely searched for the turbo mentioned by storm too but as many of you ppl suggested to not to mess-up with the current engine,i m not installing turbo presently.i might go for 4efte swap in near future if i get permission to do so

    @farrukh
    ur reply stopped me the most to install turbo
    and want to ask u one thing that if i swap my engine with 4efte or 1-nz,then will it need the engine mountings to be altered or are they somehow similar?
    will it be a simple swap or is it also a hectic job too?

    For 4EFTE...There Is A Total New Mounting For NCP10 As None of E Series Came In Vitz...!!
    For 1NZ There's Still A Chance Of Some Mounts Getting Lined Up....!! Don't Care About Mounts...Thats No Issue....Just Care About Rest Of Stuff...!! Mounts Can Be Done....!
    Whateve You Want To Swap..Just Swap....!! But Just Let Your 1SZFE Get Weak 1st...!! Swapping Car With Good Engines Just Don't Do Justice Make It All Useful...Then Its More Fun To Swap

    if you want to go for a swap then i'd suggest a 3SGTE over any other engine,.. if you can get it to fit and work...
