Question Vitz 2007 : OD (over dirve) / Eco option ?

    AoA,

I have vitz 2007, and i saw in a freinds Vitz 2000 that there is button to turn on and off teh OD option which make car more economic if OD is turne off. But i dont see this button and option, where it is located ?

I am asking this because i am having very bad petrol consumption even after chaning oil, air filter, change spark plugs, clean up everything. I am still getting between 11 and 12 KM in a mix of Highway and city daily route.

    Thanks for your help

Hi netone , i don't think that option is available in the variant that you and i have. Once you found out the secret way to get reasonable mileage please do let me know.
    Till then VITZ SUCKS!!!!!! :@...

    Sir

Check your cat converter, allignment, your fuel consumption is pretty decent for an auto.

OD will make things worse, It is in the previous VITZ/Platz and in local SE Saloon/Altis, not sure about Post 2005 Vitz/Belta.

    Sir

My manual Alto does not give me 17-18 km.

05 EXI Manual gives 9km City 11km Highway.

Your throttle body, ECU, fuel lines and injectors are good?

Last time (2 weeks ago) when i changed everythng, airfilter, oil, oil fileer, spark plugs, etc, the guy asked my to buy a Carborator cleaner, then he spread that in a hole ( i think is throttle body) the one that is covered by box that contain airfilter etc.. And he asked me to press the accelerater, and some dirt came out from the silencer.

Is that all for throttle body ? or i should do other thing to clean it up ? an other mechanic is asking for 800 RS to clean throttle body, i dont know if it is the same procedure or he will open it. Is it needed to do it ? or carborator cleaner is enough and rest is waste of money ?

Here I got an other question :

I went to computerized tunning center in G10, the guy is saying all is perfect in my car, except the Fuel filter, He explained me that when can come from Japan they empty the petrol tanky, and when it arrive in paksitan they But the dirtiest OIl to just drive the car from ship to Loader. So it choak the Fuil Filter, pump. And it had to be cleaned out, and it is in BOX which is very fragile at the backside of car near seats. And it take 2-3 hours to do this Job. He is asking 1500 RS for this.

Dose anyone know about this ?

Your car is perfect & don't destroy it by going socalled computerized workshops. When u drive don't forget that Vitz is not local made vehicle. This is Japanese spec car for japanese domestic market not for PAK road & conditions.
If Toyota say 18 to 20km/l for vitz then that is for JDM conditions not for PAK.If you expect that documented averege then is not fair.we have 40 or 45+ temp most of the time in PAK but i never experience 35+ in Japan.high temp, bad fuel & oils, driving habits, roads everything effect on vehicle performance.
Enjoy ur ride with seat felt fasten & drive safe.

2nd we dont empty petrol tank in japan so this is not true.Maybe people on Karachi port do that practice.

Are you sure about it ? apparently for security purpose they are force to empty it before loading it in the ship (fire risk)

SO you dont advise me to clean the Fuel filter ?

The engine make too much noise also, which is strange for petrol car, i feel like i am in a diesel car, even the 2.d of my uncle dosent make that much noise.
