    Default Vitz 2008 morning problem

    hi,

i'm having a problem with my vitz 2008..the vitz itself takes a long self start in morning..then it becomes alright and starts with short n normal self all day...hve shown to various mechanics including Nazir's son in G-8 and Toyota i-9...changed plugs, engine oil, oil and air filter and atf (without staner wash)..i only use Hi-octane from Caltex Super market..ECU checks are also fine..car is without CNG mileage is under 25K.car is pretty much new n fresh import..

    any ideas?

The problem is with your battery check the fluid level in each tube, if it's low add normal water to it fill it about half an inch to the top (Don't fill it all the way to the top). If the problem continues then change your battery.

bhai put in the injector cleaner and check the fuel filter...
da fuel filter for ur model is a 2 stage filter and it works lyk a water filter in homes...
da drawback of dis filter is noone can see and check if its in working condition or not cuz da lower part(which consists) of paper doesnt get soo dark(dirty) so mechanics think its pretty gud whereas the bigger granules part is full of dirt at tymes....the upper, bigger part are the dark granules even in a new filter and the plastic body isnt visible so you cant see and judge exactly.
remember the white paper doesnt get dirty soo easily because its a 2 step filter so the fuel is pretty much cleaned in the upper part which you cant see from a naked eye.

meters peechay huvay hotay hein to u cnt tell how much the car is actually driven.

and yeh pls only put in the Genuine injector cleaner. it costs around 1300 not the cheap 150 waley u might get frm fuel stations.

ive used it when i had a vitz and it helps : )
its a pretty small bottle but i think its worth the price

bro i use to have same problem with my 2006 vitz . . u must have long self on first ignition while on second one it will start fine ... right ??
There is no problem in your car the problem is that dont use lot of hi-octane . . Use half hi-octane and half super . Because hi-octane is more kind of dry thats why this problem occurs . Beleve me just use 2 tanks of super and then start using half tank of hi-octane and half super , you will never see this problem InshAllah

bhai...already put injector cleaner from toyota into the fuel with tank almost full and it costed about 1800..but seems a waste of money..as i'm using caltex which already have techron fuel additives and detergent particles for cleaning injectors...do not know about the fuel filter...but fuel economy is superb!

    @129

hmmm i think it can be the case of only using Hi-octane..

but the problem my car is that the car itself takes the long self..(means i only ignite the engine once and car starts itself after a long self of 4-5 seconds)

    The weathers getting chilier so

    1. That might be a cause of cold starts.

    2. Never start ur car directly, wen u turn ur cars keys to ignition point ul notice a (zzz, tch) sound (wen tch) happens start ur car it wud start in small self. The ECU perform a recheck on every thing.

And some time wen the car doesnt starts in a single self wait for this to happen before restarting.

i think tomorrow i shud add super with hi-octane and check the results...

btw today i replaced toyota petron engine oil with caltex havoline...plz anyone tell me..is it good based on their experience with Vitz (3 cylinder) ? becos i feel petron is the worst engine oil, due less mileage, long gear ratios etc.

also i changed my corolla's se saloon's shell engine oil with Caltex fully synthetic oil (costed 2250 for 4 liters) i feel the fuel economy of corolla reduced now...any ideas on this?

thanks garcia1icon and kwa3001 but in my opinion valve clearance is mainly related to idle vibration and engine noise.

i think my problem is related with the fuel...as i'm only using Hi-octane instead of Super+HiOctane

i've been lazy today so could not able to get car on the road...i'll try adding super with hi-octane tomorrow...hopefully things will be fine..

the only problem is that hi-octane is very dry and it should not be continuously used . . simple keep equal ration of super and hi-octane and inshAllah ur car will be rocking .. Plus also check for coils , theres a kind of rubber on it in gray colour , do get checked if they are in good condition .

i'm currently facing a similar problem with my vitz 2010. there are times when even when the car would start normally in the morning, if i drive the car for a while then turn it off and start it after 15-20 mins, the car would sort of struggle to start (the turning over gets slow) and then suddenly it'd start. any idea what the prob could be? i'm concerned because i roam late nights alot and if the car doesn't start on one of my late night outings then...big problem...
