    Default Toyota Vitz 2005 Fuel Consumption

    Dear All,

    I was thinking to buy a Vitz 2005 model. I just wanted to ask the owners of Vitz about the fuel consumption of thier rides?

    In town and on highway, is the consumption good?

    Thanks in advance.

    its just so-so... it shud be better for a 1.0l 3cyl... on highway youll get no more then 14 aprox and intercity max 11 or 12 with extreme care driving in little to none traffic.

    @iLLDuDe786

    So you are suggesting it is not good? Should I buy a Vitz or not?

    errr... I'm getting 12-15 in city without a/c, with a/c it doesn't go above 13 in city. Never really calculated on highways.

    Its an excellent car given that you can afford the running cost. if your on a tight budget then opt for a cultus with cng. will be much much cheaper to run

    then consider yourself quite lucky, i have surveyed many vitz owners in the market. my car was giving no more then 10 km/l whn i last sold it. but that was with an air intake.

    @ILLdude
    I 100% agree with you.
    I myself and 2 of my other friends own vitz 07 and before buying many people told us that it does 17/km etc.
    All were liars.
    The car does 11/km without AC and with it does 9/km.
    We have got tuned it about thousand times from various Toyota outlets but nothing happens.
    Other wise its an excellent car but if you looking vitz for mileage then please buy something else.

    lol @ 10km/l why one would buy a vitz then?
    oh and there is also this problem of the catalyst converter choking which many people I've met didn't seem to figure out, it ruins the performance and the mileage. And its plugs! Godd!! Either buy them from a really trusted source or buy from toyota!.

    I own a 2006 Vitz that has the 1000cc engine with 3 cylinders.

    Its giving 12.5 km/l inside Islamabad on regular petrol without AC.

    Last weekend it gave me around 12.4 km/l on highway driving between Islamabad and Lahore on M2 at speeds of 125 to 135 km/hr with AC turned on. I can understand this high consumption would be because the 1000cc engine was really revved up at the 130k mark. I assume the consumption figure would be far far better if I am at speeds of around 100 km/hr.

    Now I am going to try the performance with high octance / regular fuel mixture and will report back.

    I put about 15 litres high octane and rest regular fuel in two tank fulls recently. I think the engine performance has slightly improved in terms of acceleration and less knocking. But the fuel consumption has remained the same. My next attempt would be to change the spark plugs.

    I have a vitz 2005, which normally gives me 11 km/ltr in Islamabad, however for last two months it has reduced to less than 10 km. I am using Havoline formula, which claims to run your car for 5000 km, but i was surprised to see the condition of oil after 4000 km, it was totally ruined, so I am now thinking of either changing it at 3500 km or switching to zic oil. Can anyone suggest a more suitable oil and a good vitz specialist mechanic around G-10 area.

    zic is good but zic a+ availabe in pakistan now is 5w20 which is thinner than recommended 5w30 for vitz

    So if you want to go for zic, use zic xq 5w40 fully synthetic

    I have a vitz 2006/ (2012 import)
    Let me put it this way, On Highway, each Fuel point drops between 90-110(b/w lhr-isb). The round trip of LHR-ISB Costs me 1 Tank. The milage might be better if I didn't have to spend a lot of extra fuel on Salt Range.So, on average, 740km/40Ltr with AC. That makes an avg of 18.5. But on straight road, First point drops at 110. Since there are 8 points, each of 5 Liters, so avg becomes 22.

    In city, I normally get 16-17km with AC.

    The Trick is in your foot. If you drive it with RPM at 2 max, and let it shift to higher gears sooner, it will give you amazing milage. But if you are going to push the throttle hard, it will prove to be a hard and expensive car for your pocket.

    i am sure you got the idea.

    Hey dear.. i have asked this question from many others but not find any accurate answer yet. Can u plz spare time to help...
    I have question please make it clear to me.
    I am a bachelor student.
    I was going to buy a 2nd gen vitz for myself
    When i asked mechanics and some of dealers which were friends of mine etc etc they all told me not to buy 2nd generation vitz. They said that nobody understands its repairing, its resale is a big problem, they are not gud in many ways from 1st gen. They all try to convince me for buying 1st gen vitz.. can u please tell me either these are truths or not? Should i go for 1st gen or 2nd gen?
