Unhappy My problem with Toyota Vitz 2006

Hi guyz. i've got a problem here.

i have a 2006 toyota vitz, registered 2008 here in lahore.. It is an amazing car. i never had any problems whatsoever with her. but since this winter i am feeling some strange things to my car.

    1. Longers self starts (no more half-selfs).
    2. It smells like smoke, but i dont see any (kacha dhuaa). Yet 2 times in the past 2 months i even saw smoke coming out of the cylencer when i rev'd it up a bit high.
    3. The engine sounds a bit strange (maybe it was winter and cold starts means a bit noisy engine). But still the engine sound is a bit on the bad side.
    4. The pick of the car is just darn SLOW. (if feels like a parachute has opened up in the back as soon as it touches the 60 km mark)
    5. Since the removal of catalytic converter the cylincer sounds annoyingly strange. It gets louder when i put my foot down the accelerator, yet the car doesnt seem quick enough. (catalytic converter removed by guys at toyota garden motors)
    6. I read here that many ppl can take the car upto 170-180 kmph mark, whereas i never (since day one) could take it over 150 mark.

The car is running on petrol since day one. Occasional mix with high-octane. CNG NOT INSTALLED. Always used genuine air filter to change, and oil filter changed with every oil change. Currently using ZIC A+ oil. I dont have any petrol mileage issues (never checked / dont need). The ODO says 60000 km mark. But its original readings as when i got the car 3 years ago it was at 45k mark. I only use this car to go to office and come back. Only one hand used. Tyres are 185/60/r15.

What is wrong with my car. I did change the ATF, removed the catalyst converter. After abt 6 months or so, i would clean the throttle body by removing it and cleaning it with NASA cleaner and a toothbrush . Sensors also cleaned acoordingly.

I AM WORRIED NOW. I have kept this car like a baby, took care of her, yet she seems not happy with me. What to do, or where to get it checked from.

what about kacha dhuaa. The oil wala says that i should do some quick oil changes 2-3 times so that the engine goes back to normal.

any treatment fluid for the engine? anything at all ??

Please advice me. I know the guru's @ pakwheels can give me a better solution.

make a solution of 20% citric acid and hot water and dunk the cat in it for a day. Remove and flush out then install.

    Default MAP or MAF?

If I am not wrong it's called MAF Sensors it stands for Mass Air Flow sensor which is attached near airfilter cover, you may clean it but be VERY careful because it has small filaments that senses the air pressure if these are broken during cleaning process you would have to buy a new one for about $180 (orignal one)

    1. De-attach the MAF sensor from the airfilter area.
    2. Spray it with any good MAF cleaner that is available.
    3. Allow the sensor to dry in open air for about 30 minutes.
    4. Fix the sensor again.

Sorry didn't have time to go thru all replies but this is my analysis of ur problem ..

    Vitz 1.0 is a 3 cyl car ..

.. even if one fuel inj doesn't give the optimum spray well you'll get the smell, smoke, low pick up and more fuel consumption ..
    Get them cleaned ..
... Cat convertor also acts as a exhaust gas pressure controller now that u have removed it the exhaust gases have excessive pressure resulting in increased vibration and engine sound .. need to damp the pressure to control it
... Gear oil in CVT plays a major role .. with slightly thick oil the gear changing (though not much of a physical change) rpm and torque is effected which seriously damages your gear box .. still my assessment is that Toyota ATF should not be creating much of a difference .. get ur other problems removed and u'll do ok
.. never clean iridium tipped plugs with steel brush or sand paper .. google to see the tip shape .. if it is ok .. fine .. plus there is plug tester machine at some workshops which will check plugs for you .. need not replace if working ok

    HI dears,

Please recommend an expert for replacing Vitz 2002/Manual head gasket, I am facing engine heat up problem and replaced the radiator with new double cooling coil, but the problem persist,

I have got the advise that replace the engine assembly rather than repair of head gasket because it does not give success results,

Please help out to resolve the issue.

    Default Toyota Vitz 2006 CVT

Hi, I have just read through your posts on the Vitz and it EXACTLY similar to the problems I am having with mine ( mine is also 2006 year with 1000cc engine and CVT gearbox.
I have very little forward drive power it is like the gearbox has no fluid but the fluid is perfect . I still replaced with correct TC fluid for CVT box but no change. Can you tell me is the oil cooler outside of gearbox can you describe for me ??, also where is the filter , I looked everywhere but no sign .
I really appreciate you help, the person that your pal Sharabhi referred you to is a brilliant mechanic as here no one knows how to fix.

My engine problem is that after driving for maybe 20 mins the management light comes on but car drives perfect but emissions are very high, I have checked all sensors air mass, oxygen and the timing chain is good.
Did you have this problem too,
Please help me if you can .
    Thank you
    Peter

my ride is back to normal and all happened without any repair or change of transmission, engine cleaning, engine carbon cleaning etc, ect what not as detected by many well know BIG NAMED mechanics all over Karachi...

The following list of problems were detected and resolved.
    - All point to point test was done from sensor to sensor. all errors were cleared and removed. ECU reset was also done. to remove errors.

    - CAT was totally blocked he checked did a
exhaust system back pressure test the it was 5.5 PSI at the engine exaust before the cat and the reading after the cat was 0.5 PSI which proved that the Cat was totally blocked. SO CAT had to be Removed...
    - fuel pressure was not up to standard 2500 PSI pressure was measure and min required is 3500 PSI.
Fuel Pump and Fuel Filter service was done without any replacement of any part.

    - Transmission Oil Cooler choked - cleaned and reinstalled, cleaning of CVT filter (jali).
    - CVT TC oil replaced.

    ----------------------------------------------------

The car has recovered and now no Check light no abnormal sound... Kickdown function is also working now which i never experienced before and the acceleration is more than normal (ishare Par chal rahi hai) Alhamdolillah.

All credit goes to Shahzaib he refereed me to the right person...

    Hi friends
i would recommend a mechanic for VITZ, where others gave estimates of 50000, 70000 he always fix the issue in 10 to 20 % of the estimates. must get ur vitz checked for any faults .

I have suggested on many threads to reset the ECU, but no one takes it seriously.

All you have to do is to is to disconnect the battery at night and reconnect it in the morning.

Please try this before you get your car screwed up by stupid mechanics.
