    Default Vitz Power Steering Problem

    Salam guys,
    hope everyones good !

For the past couple of weeks , i have been feeling that my 03 vitz steering gets heavy after driving for 5-10 mins in the morning ... and it remains heavy while the car is warm ... same thing happens in the evening when i am leaving from work ... i can move the steering using palm of my hands, but when its heavy , it feels like using a normal steering
I have consulted couple of mechanics , and untill now no one has been able to answer why the steering gets heavy when the car gets warm ??

I have tried changing the power steering fluid but it didnt help ... maybe some experts can shed some light on this problem ?

    Thanks

sticky valve body or overworked and overheated fluid causing the pump to labour. remedy, - dont palm the steering while the car is stationary, turn like you would normally (by using both hands)

There can be number of reasons for your problem.

Low fluid, level on the pump a broken belt, there is a belt that connects the engine's main drive pulley to the power steering, alternator, air conditioning, pulleys.

Or the power steering pump can go bad.

Check the fluid and the belts to make sure they are correct.Belt should have correct tension for it to work correctly.
All modern cars, belt tension is set with a spring loaded pulley to maintain the correct tension. Check the belt tensioned for correct tension

Power steering rack - the thing that couples the hydraulic pressure from the power-steering pump into the steering mechanism - may need repair by rebuilding or replacing with a used good one or new one.

Tire Pressure low. Front alignment incorrect. Front axle kingpins or ball joints tight. Steering gear improperly adjusted
