Default My new ride Vitz 2006, fresh import

    Asalam-o-Alikum warahmatullah,

I was planning to upgrate my Cultus Vxli 2008 for last three months. There was a big tie between Toyota vitz and Suzuki Swift. Both rides are awesome, but I had to pick one. So, in the end I picked Toyota Vitz. The main reason to pick it was the lack of auto transmission in Suzuki Swift.

Second tie was in between 1.3L and 1.0L versions. Though 1.0 is the best if one wants to save fuel and taxes but I required power too. So I opted for 1.3 version.

I will use this thread to keep you all updated about the ride inshAllah.

    Default Rear spoiler with light

Has anyone installed rear spoiler with back light? I have heard that installing the same usually gives ABS warning light.

I have a 2006 vitz and i hear that awkward tik tik transmission sound specially when i am driving the car at low RPM. I got the throttle body serviced, the spark plugs changed. There was a minor improvement but the sound is still there. I got the transmission oil checked but according to my mechanic, the oil is ok. Can someone help me on this?
In addition to that, there is vibration in my car specially when i stop at signals. According to my mechanic and some other vitz users, this is due to the under power 3 cylinder engine of vitz. Is it true? If not, how can this be improved?

    Hi.
I am using Vitz 2006 .As per this forum Fuel Filter should be changed every 40K kilomenter or after 2-3 years(Toyota guys were also saying the same thing).Just checked and new fuel filter costs around Rs. 13,000 from Toyota and around 7,500 from the market as genuine one comes with complete assembly and no just the filter.I dont have the vitz 2006 manual but acccording to this toyota delarship in Lahore Service Schedule | TOYOTA Airport ,it should be changed after 80K kilometers for Vitz 2006 onwards.

Also what about AC filter .when should it be changed as the new one costs Rs .5,500 from Toyota?

    Any experiences?

I suggest not changing the Fuel Filter unless it gives some problem since it is not just a filter but a complete assembly. I haven't changed it for my Vitz at the 80k and so far things are going fine.

The AC filter is already discussed so please search this thread. I remember others suggested to go for the cheaper filter.

My car also has this problem and from what I have heard some other people also have this issue of steering vibration when the car stops. I have noticed that if the AC/fan is turned off then the vibration quickly goes away. I haven't taken it for a check so not sure what is the reason.

MY HID experience is very bad. It's a 45 KW HID. When I turn it on everything becomes bright but the opposite traffic becomes blind! dead blind! So I cannot use it anywhere.

Well that under power engine theory is so in now a days. The 1 KR-FE engine (1000 Cc) only feels under power due to sub-standard fuel. Otherwise it is awesome.

Have you tried high octane? Just try once. Put a full tank high octane from some good fuel station (on whom u can beleive that they are putting in what you have asked them for) and then check it. I hope that the sound will go away. If that does not help then you require a checkup from some good expert.

    regards,

Yes the weather is pleasant in morning and evening. Nights are colder. Middle part of the day is still hot though. But I normally drive only in morning and night. I come to office at 9:30 AM and leave office around 80 PM night. So I do not use A/C at all now a days

26 degree Cent today! What about Karachi?
