Default My new ride Vitz 2006, fresh import

    Asalam-o-Alikum warahmatullah,

I was planning to upgrate my Cultus Vxli 2008 for last three months. There was a big tie between Toyota vitz and Suzuki Swift. Both rides are awesome, but I had to pick one. So, in the end I picked Toyota Vitz. The main reason to pick it was the lack of auto transmission in Suzuki Swift.

Second tie was in between 1.3L and 1.0L versions. Though 1.0 is the best if one wants to save fuel and taxes but I required power too. So I opted for 1.3 version.

I will use this thread to keep you all updated about the ride inshAllah.

    Assalam-o-Alaikum,

I have purchased Vitz 2006 1.3 just a month ago and i have experienced the mileage to be around 11 km/l in the city. I also made a round trip to Lahore and it gave me around 12.5 km/l. What should i do to improve the fuel efficiency. I have also visited Toyota for the engine tune up and told them about the mileage problem but of no use. Anyone can suggest a good workshop in Islamabad.

    Regards.

    Walikum asalam.

Nice to hear that you got the new vitz for you. Did u buy it second hand or is it a fresh import?
hmmmm. So when you told toyota people regarding mileage what did they do? Throttle body clean etc? What did they say regarding plugs? What about airfilter?

Mileage depends on lot of things like the standard of fuel one use, how heavy foot one drives, the load one carries and driving conditions.

You can try changing your fuel station. Try not to drive heavy footed.

Frankly speaking I havnt been able to find a satisfactory workshop regarding vitz though u can go to Toyota motors potohar road 1-9 for second opinion regarding the issue.

Try posting in vitz fan club section for more expert opinion. Keep in touch if something helps in improving you mileage as it will help others in future.

    best of luck.

Well bro this is a very serious question and there is a big difference in between which port is the "real" filler port for CVT oil. We used the port which has "TC" written on it. Many users say that this is not the right port but still it works This port with "TC" is present on your right side wall of engine. (when u stand facing towards engine)

The oil started to drip from same "TC" port as there was no place for more oil. It stopped sucking oil from the filling funnel. Almost all the 4L oil went in.

    regards,
    thanks alot

thanks a lot for your response. Toyota people didn't do anything regarding the throttle body cleaning but i visited another workshop and got it cleaned. Toyota technician asked me to spare a day for the catalytic cleaning but someone told me that it is either removed or changed and no cleaning is possible for catalytic. Does it also contribute to the mileage??

hmmm. I do not know much about catalytic cleaning. I have heard many people saying that cleaning a CAT is impossible. Theoretically a chocked CAT converter should effect the mileage but literature review on internet says that there is a very less chance of a CAT getting chocked as it can be perceived as an "afterburner" and all it ever takes is Oxygen and any unburned stuff (HC, CO, etc.) and burn them one more time. Cat runs very very very very hot and can burn anything. Due to this burning effect, all the waste material deposited on it should get burned and cleaned automatically when time pass.

But still people remain afraid as if it gets chocked, there is no mean to know it's condition inside. Probably due this fact people here in Pakistan prefer to get rid of CATs.

Summarizing your question, yes a chocked CAT can effect efficiency of engine. But there is a less change that a CAT will get chocked because it is made in such a way that it gets very hot and burns everything which gets attached to it. Still people remaining afraid of it remove it. That is why may be the last owner of you ride removed the CAT as somebody told u.

    regards,
Hi, a friend of mine owns 1.0 vitz 2007 so do I. We bought it in the same month about a year ago now. Last month his car was making noise just like a tractor..when he got it checked by a toyota mechanic in lahore (Toyota Township motors) he said your CAT is blocked and that is probably due to bad quality fuel ( he used to fuel his car from Attock F11 MArkaz). The mechanic cleaned up the CAT and after this he also got his plugs changed and he says now the car sound has gone as well as its running like a charm

Secondly another friend of mine is saying that a 1.3 Vitz can have the same fuel economy as of 1.0 ( all things remaining the same). Since you own a 1.3 vitz my question to you is have you ever got an economy of 17.8 km/L (Cause this is how much i am getting on my 1.0 2007 vitz). Do share your experience

I think your friend is right. My 1.3 vitz is giving me 15 on average in city. I once noticed an 16.87 with soft foot and soft padel. regards,

ok folks im back with new upgrade to my car as i was planning earlier to change my tyres i finally got them changed today
my car came with 165 70 r14 originally but the ride used to hit speedbreaker if 2 ppl were sitting at the back and since i didnt want to hurt my cars suspension i was looking for 185 60r15 after couple of trips to the market i got to know this size was not available
so i had to contact the yokohama distributor in khi and he told me that this size is only available in db e70 which comes in swift dx
it took a couple of days to get them delivered to isb in the meanwhile i visited the tyre market here again to look for some alloy rims and i decided to put on new corola altiss alloys
after getting them installed on my car i ve noticed few changes
    1. improved road grip
    2. little bit more noise but that makes sense since these are 185s
    3. road clearance is better now i even drove it over a speed breaker with 2 ppl wittin on the back no sound of scratching or hitting
    4. fuel economy is still a ? ill b needing to ur opinion on this

ill upload the new pics of my car once i get it washed tomorrow but i ve uploaded the pic of the tyre and the alloy rims
