Default My new ride Vitz 2006, fresh import

    Asalam-o-Alikum warahmatullah,

I was planning to upgrate my Cultus Vxli 2008 for last three months. There was a big tie between Toyota vitz and Suzuki Swift. Both rides are awesome, but I had to pick one. So, in the end I picked Toyota Vitz. The main reason to pick it was the lack of auto transmission in Suzuki Swift.

Second tie was in between 1.3L and 1.0L versions. Though 1.0 is the best if one wants to save fuel and taxes but I required power too. So I opted for 1.3 version.

I will use this thread to keep you all updated about the ride inshAllah.

Oh yes they are really good. And yes it becomes very hard to avoid the crush of speed breakers. I am thinking to put 185/60 R15 into it. This will give me a bit better ground clearance thn the current 14 ones.

I am loving mine also purchased in late january. The dvd installation you got there is great ! I was getting a similar one(same size) for half the price + two additional speakers so i opted for a different one.
Good going for the 1300cc one, in my opinion, it is a good engine for this car and the 1000cc just seems to lack power. Also as Murtaza already stated its a CVT trans bro.
The next thing you should look for is alloy rims and new set of tires. I got a significant improve on the mileage by changing the rims, tires and balancing the wheels !
If you dont mind me asking .. Whats the total mileage ?
JazakAllah bro. Yes I opted for 1300 because I heard that 1000 is underpowered and it has knocking problem and one requires high octane to keep it on top.

Yes inshAllah. I will go for alloy and planning for michelin 185/60 R15 inshAllah. But will go for it next month because of budget issues.

The total mileage on Odo meter is 31000 KMs only. But on auction paper it was 71000 Kms.

LoL this is not a floppy device. This is just a small box. You just put the hand in it and pull it. The box opens. You can put small things like mobile etc in it. It is just a console.

I think you are mixing it with the Electronic Toll Tax Collection Card Reader? Arent you? My vitz have that too but it is under the dash, on the left bottom of steering. This floppy device kind of thing is used for electronic tool collection. You simply put the electronic card in it. When you pass through a toll plaza it automatically deducts money from you card. Check this link:

Here in Pakistan it is of no use.
    Best of luck,

I might have not looked closely at this pic but in my Vitz '09, there is a floppy disk sort of port in the dash on the right side near driver leg room. It has buttons such as 'volume' etc. on it. No idea what that is. I will post a pic soon.

Was it your own initiative or did Toyota guys recommend it? Many PWs have reported that after removal of CAT, their Vitz sounds very 'roary' and smells bad.

Another PW eliminated these side-effects by replacing the dholki containing CAT. What did you do?

Well that was the initiative of Toyota people. They told me that the DRAG on the engine caused by converter would be bad for engine.

Yes the engine's sound has been changed. But its fine. It does not have that "roary" kind of noise. It is fine mashAllah. but the noise has changed and it is not that good as it was before converter's removal.
