Exclamation Vitz'08 Seat Belts Problem, Urgent Help

(This thread is on behalf of a friend)
A friend of mine just imported Vitz'08 Auto,

Problem is that its seat belts are not working, seat belts are jammed, whenever we drive the car, seat belts warning light starts blinking with a disturbing beep sound...

Is there any method or procedure to use the seat belts as we are new to Auto transmission cars...

Secondly it is a push start(start/stop button) car, no key related setup is there everything is controlled through remote,
Is it possible to install a proper ignition system, just like in normal manual cars...

    Waiting for usual response...

    Thanks & Regards,
    Haali

wearing a seat belt is not a problem, but seat belts are not working, they are stuck somewhere i don't know...its motor is not working I think....but I think there is some other mechanism to use it, that we don't know

IF seat belts are JAMMED ie not coming out so they can be clipped in, then the car has been in an accidnt and the airbags have been deployed. or the airbag sensor has been cut. My friends vitz had a crash and his seat belts got jammed. We found out later on that during crash the belts got tight to save from impact and when the airbags and sensor will be put back in they will be back to normal. He didnt refill airbags and seat belt remaind same. JAMMED. Hope to be of help

Don't rely on such things. Here is an easy test...

Start your car...several lights on dash will light-up. Do you see an airbag light symbol (google it to see how it looks; looks like a man sitting on a seat with an airbag popped)? This symbol should come and go within seconds, if everything is working. If it doesn't, then either the car has been accidented, or there is something wrong with the airbag system. Report your findings to us here...

After starting the car, the airbag & seatbelts indication lights are still on with a beep sound, after some time or while driving this beep sound goes off itself but indication lights are still on... car is not accidented, we have imported this car from Japan last week, tomorrow, I will upload the pics of my car InshaAllah.

If the airbag lights stay on while driving then there is definately some problem with your air bag system. Get it checked from some authorised place.

The light come on when the system detects a problem and sets a trouble code. You should have it diagnosed by a trained technician. The airbag system is not for do it yourselfers.

The light is on because there is a problem with the air bag system. When the air bag light is on the system is not working and will not deploy in the event of an accident. When the air bag light is on the system has set a code(s) in the computer A scanning device can retrieve the code(s). The code(s) will give you a clue where the problem is. Many auto parts stores will read the code(s) from your vehicles computer for zip if you purchase the parts necessary to repair the vehicle from them.

If you have a false signal coming from the sensor harnes, it means there is an issue with your airbag. You should have it diagnosed and repaired.

If the air bag light is coming on then you have a problem with the SRS. Seek professional help.

On most vehicles, the airbag light should come on for @6 seconds, and then go off if the system is working properly. If there is a fault or a problem in the system, the light will remain illuminated, or flash continuously. If the airbag light does not work properly, some vehicles have an audible tone that sounds indicating a problem with the airbag light system. When the light is on (or the tone is sounding), the airbag will NOT deploy, even in an accident.

SRS ( supplement restraint system)if your light is on while driving, it means there is a malfunction in the system somewhere, which you should have checked. The light comes on because the airbag computer has detected a malfunction. You need to have the system checked for codes with a scan tool. You then need to have the cause repaired by a trained technician. Again I repeat, the airbag system is not a safe place for do it you selfers.

Either the bags have been deployed or there is a problem with the computer/sensors.
If it's the computer/sensor the bags won't deploy. First thing tomorrow morning, get this checked out!

best thing wud be to get seat belts replaced and airbags checked... but there is a way of shutting the beep down. go under ur driver's seat, u ll find a small electrical socket, pop it out of its place. this will shut the beep down BUT, remember, this is gonna stop the air bags from deploying if they are there and are working... that is why this is NOT recommended, infact i dont even tell this to people as i DO want them to be annoyed by the beep and wear seatbelts but in ur case, seems like the air bags are already out and seatbelt is not working so u're left with no solution.

and why do u want to get rid of the push start button? :s i ve seen people getting mad for it and ur friend wants to get rid of it?

Self import means you ensure the vehicle is A class, 5A grade if affordable. M afraid the guy at the other end cheated on you BADLY even if it weren't 5A. The basic reason for self importing has been killed; you might end up paying the same amount as a car locally available if you try to get the problems fixed.
