Default Toyota Vitz 2007 - vibration and whistling sound

    Hi,

Since last two days when I start the Vitz in the mornings the car sort of vibrates/shudders for few seconds then is back to normal. This never happened before. It's like as if the engine shudders for a few secs then is back to normal. I cleaned the throttle body, spark plugs and replaced the air filter last month. What could be the problem?

Also when I start to drive the car after its parked overnight or after work in the evenings I can hear a whistling sound which is similar to a bird chirping on the right side area. This does not happen everytime but on and off on several occasions and only for awhile but then disappears as I continue to drive the car. I can't figure out where this sound seems to come from??

Would appreciate any suggestions help please.

    Thanks

Thanks salash will try that too.

@capsat forgive my lack of knowledge but what is the HT cable

@levin when you say centre on pulley your talking about the middle area which rotates?

The High Tension Cables or leads which take current from coil to distributor (if available) and connects with the spark plugs. Simple speaking, I think, he is asking to check the power plug cables. He is asking to check if they are properly fixed and are not loose.

I think he is asking about Crankcase pully or the flywheel. Most probably he is asking to lubricate flywheel with WD40.

Nice to hear your problem is solved. What's you vitz model? The noise used to disappear after first 3 to 4 kilometers? Did noise use to come when you shift to "P" ? Do you have a CVT transmission or AT?

    regards,
Yesterday finally got a chance from my busy schedule to replace the spark plugs with Denso Iridium. Surprisingly, when I scanned and cleaned the throttle body from my mechanic last month he didnt tell me to replace the plugs as they were quite brown on the tip. Now the car is become much smoother and I can feel the difference in driving.

However, the stuttering sounds after starting the car still remains for few seconds as I noticed this morning after the car was parked overnight. Only happens after car is parked for long durations. Next will now check the battery for any problems.

Ahan. Nice to hear about smooth ride after getting the plugs changed.

You are right. Battery might be becoming weak and require change.

Best of luck bro, and keep us updated.
