Post Guidance needed for Vitz 2009

    Assalam-o-alaikum!

I have been a member of PakWheels.com for quite a while now but never posted anything. I am residing in Karachi. This is my first post where I am seeking advice from our experienced members specially from Storm as he always explains very nicely.

Here comes the concern, I have bought a Vitz 2009 1.0L 3-cyl with Automatic Transmission, around 39k on Odometer, in ramadan. I need to know that what things I should get checked like Oil, Oil Filter etc. also please provide your expert guidance on what else should i need to check for or anything which you think will be suitable for me.

Actually, this is the first time I bought a car in Pakistan and I heard from quite so many people that there are so many frauds in many ways related to everything so please guide.

Thank you very much in advance for all of you PW members.

Note: Mods and administrators I don't know whether this section is suitable for this post or not. If it doesn't please move it to appropriate section. Many Thanks.

Hi, Welcome to the Vitz Club

What you need to do is:

    1. Change engine oil
    2. Change oil filter
    3. Check air filter, if you can find the original one then change it, otherwise get this one cleaned and use it. It has got good life.
    4. Change transmission oil, use ONLY TOYOTA CVT-TC oil. Available for 4000-4200 from any Toyota dealership.
    5. Change spark plugs, use NGK.
    6. replace tyres if you feel the need to.

You can do all these and then be tension free for the next 3000 KMs minumum. as for the Gear oil, it'll last upto 30,000 - 40,000 KMs.

you missed the timing belt part, be sure to replace it just for the peace of mind,it costs hardly 2000 to 2500 rupees with labour and that too from the dealership not the local mechanics, you're never sure whether the mileage is tempered or not and if the timing belt breaks as it is meant to be replaced @ 100,000 kms you're in deep **** pal ,it happened with my civic and the whole engine head had to be replaced

    I PARTIALLY DIS-AGREE

-- irridium tipped plugs are good for 100,000 km and more .. need not be changed, same for timing belt
-- Check condition of trans oil then change it

    Get a diagnostic test done

Your suggestion reminded me of a friend of mine suggesting another friend who bought a diesel car to change the spark plugs!! Lolzzz.... (There are no spark plugs in diesel engine)
