Default Toyota Vitz 2009 Fuel Average

Salam Everyone, I have been a spectator at pakwheels forums for quiet sometime now and finally posting for the first time and hope to be a regular contributor now

I recently got Vitz 2009 MA in white. Before buying I was told by many friends and acquaintances of mine, owner of vitz, that it gives an average of 15-18kms/liter within city with A/C...I got it its throttle body service and tunning and got its tank filled. But to my dismay it has given me an average of 10kms/litr

What could be the possible reasons? i have heard it improves once its catalytic convertor is removed but whats the science behind it? anybody please explain

    waiting for suggestionssss

    Regards,
    Umer

You will find many users here who will tell you the same 15kms/l however in reality what you are getting is what most of the vitz do, with a max of 12kms/l. I used to wonder the same, and then I realised how people calculate their milage was not exactly the way it's supposed to be, if you know what I mean.

What i did with my vitz 08 1.0 L to improve average was:

    1. Changed plugs to original denso plugs provided by toyota

    2. Changed air filter to K&N washable air filter

    3. Minimal acceleration & gear changing

    4. Tyre pressure front 24-26, rear 26-28

    5. Started changing engine oil every 4000km

    Alhamdulillah
Im getting avg between 13-15km/L in the city WITH AC

Last time i did almost 18Km/L with AC from lahore to sadiqabad IN A SINGLE FUEL TANK (610km when last fuel light started blinking)

i havent removed CAT bc ive been told it cleans it self so why remove it

    AND LAST

im using bigger tyre size and still getting good average
    Michelin Energy Saver 195/60 R15

U can look up syed shoaib on pakwheels he is running a great thread regarding his 06 vitz , study his observations

Also look up murtaza maruti on pakwheels
