    Question Vitz's consumption?

What should the petrol consumption of a 2002 manual Vitz be? The odometre has 125000 km reading but knowing the mentality of reversing, m sure it's much more. The car has NO problems whatsoever. I just want to know the mileage it ought to cover. No CNG installed.

Well well well...........the Vitz m talking about covers only 420 km in a single tank. Assuming that the car has a fourty two litre tank, that means just 10 km/l. What is the solution?

I am not sure how well maintained is your car. do a tuneup. throttle body, adjust tappets (which i think cannot be done in the regular way), get the plugs cleaned / replaced.
get the MAF sensor checked. it malfunctioned once in our case. and was replaced with a second hand one at 20% of the cost of new one. (600 rs. i guess)
our platz is maintained by toyota rawal n i supervise everythng they do. satisfied client.

I have noted everything and hope to sort it out over the weekend Inshallah. Is your car's catalytic convertor still in tact? This one's is.

What do you recommend to do about this Vitz's? Follow your initial instructions and then decide about the converter, no? Or should that be chucked out as well? There was a topic where someone had recommended a workshop in I-9 to get that issue fixed. Your opinion?

do it as a last resort. someone with a reborn here on pakwheels do the frequent cleaning of the convertor by dismantling the exhaust pipe and brushing / air blowing. i think you should try to do the same. once removed your vitz be wont the same but after an year or two you ll forget wat it was like with the convertor.
in my case removing the convertor slightly lowered the consumption and made the engine little bit noisy.

you should add the following to the list:
    1) checking / replacement of fuel filter. the one that goes below the rear seats
    2) get a bottle of liqui moly injector cleaner and put it in your fuel tank and go for a long drive.

Thank you for your number. I'll definitely get in touch with you once the car is available. However, the previous owner must have worked on the car already. I find it difficult for a decade old vehicle to be good as new.

Sorry i couldnt reply in time. had a busy weekend. hope your problem is resolved. i rely on toyota rawal ppl for all the work. the catalytic convertor was done by Akhtar Mechanic who outsourced it. his number 0300513204. hes can be found in the street to the left of Odeon Cinema in Pindi. next to MH. but the car has been mostly maintained thru Toyota Rawal.

    Post vitz-2011 re-set ECU....

I have recently purchased Vitz-2011 new shape, after that Full the fuel tank.It shows 9.5 KM/L and over all 585 KM of tank capacity that can be run.
This 9.5 KM/L increased slowly up to 11.2KM/L after 300 KM used. I was vvvv upset and checked the vehicle from enercon wks center G-10 (near Islamabad H.Court) he has checked and said its 100% OK, but not satisfied and after used of 140KM petrol used about 12 liter so consumption come 11.66 KM/l.
again i go to another wks near Daewoo Naseerabad, Ali automobile, he checked with carman scanner. and told that all sensors are OK, no fault. but the problem was SAME.
after that i have friend that has same car, he told me about RE-Set of computer (ECU) that is done by as.
    1) Remove the Negative terminal of Battery for 5-minute.
    2) again Tight the -ve terminal.
    3) switch ON the car.
    4) The ECU reset and for 20 second the engine was unstable, but after that become STABLE.
    5) Drive the car for 30-minute on normal road as well as Motorway, for observing pakistani road conditions as well as Pak peterol vs engine conditions.
    6) The dasboard computer that does not go beyond 11.2, goes up to 19KM/L and that is confirmed.
    7) Now the car is so light and changing Gear (AT) quickly.
Now it shows 702 KM instead of 345KM, and duly verified.
I am so happy and telling it to all friends the reality.....that is safe .
Dont open/clean the Throttle Body..................untill the scanner shows 0-fault.
    Be aware of it.

    Regards.
