    Default Toyota Vitz Owners/Fan Club

    The purpose of this post is to gauge the interest in forming a Toyota Vitz Owners Club in different cities of Pakistan. As we all know that Vitz has become quite popular in the last year or so. More and more people are buying it or are interested to know more about it. The purpose of the club would be to share technical / operational information regarding the car. As well as help fellow members with different issues regarding the everyday running of the car. There would be regular meets and get together as well as cruises. The criteria to join the club would be to own a Vitz and a desire to help and share information with fellow members. I myself am based in Karachi, so I can take the lead in taking off this project here. Other can do the similar thing in their respective cities. If there is enough interest, a formal charter / by-laws would be issued with club rules and regulation as well as its mission statement. The club would operate under the same rules & conditions as other international car clubs. To take this project off the ground, I believe 10 people in each city would be the minimum requirement. If anyone from Karachi is interested in being a part of this club, please email me at danyal1@hotmail.com. Pakwheelers from other cities can share their email addresses under this post if they are willing to take the lead for their respective cities. I hope to this see become a success someday and a model for other to follow. LETS MAKE IT HAPPEN GUYS!!!

    @OptimuSS

    Glad to hear that

    I posted up regarding that noise still coming after replacing the brake pads with original new ones. What could be the cause? It only happens in the mornings in slow drive and when i press brakes slightly. It used to happen before so I replaced the worn out brake pads with original ones.

    I was thinking could it be that when he removed the wheel the hub was rusty looking and needed to be cleaned with sandpaper ? (the circular part on which the wheel is supported and which has the four holes for the nut bolts)??????????

    Anyone???

    ^^dude this is common no need to worry.. Even i cleaned tht rust from all the wheels and then sprayed WD-40 but the sound still comes.

    i think its something related to the rear axle..

    As most of the time the members discuss removing CAT.

    I further want to know the reasons for its choking. As almost all vitz are comng from Japan and supposedly with on average 50,000 km on the clock. It seems that quality of fuel/petrol in Japan is even worst than Pakistan, that these CATs get choked.

    I have vitz 2001 (A/T), bought it at 53,000 km on the clock. Now on 71,000 km, running on petrol, the CAT working fine even using Pakistani petrol, Average 18.2 km/litre without AC in city and 16.5 km/litre with AC.

    Is there any suggested mileage when it gets choked keeping other things constant?

    Brothers !
    My Experience is the following:
    There are 2 CAT filters in Vitz.
    1st near to the engine and 2nd CAT is in the Housing that can be seen in the Exhaust pipe. CAT is made up from a Ceramic material.
    I recently removed the the 1st CAT and felt a Great difference in the Pick of the Car. Initially i used to mix HighOctane in the fuel (NormalPetrol=300 and HighOctane=200), and it used to prove somewhat soothing.
    What the mechanic did was that he opened (unscrewed) the whole pipe and there appeared the CAT Housing no.1 near the engine. He broke it inside the Housing into pieces and cleaned it. Thus, 1 CAT was removed which was 60% choked i.e. the CAT converter is a Ceramic filter with tiny holes which was covered with Lead/Rust.
    REMEMBER: The 1st CAT that is encountered is afftected the most. Do not remove both of them as removing both might prove annoying as a sound may be comming then.
    The 2nd will last for 2/3 years easily.
    This was all folks.
    Take care

    Catalytic converter and its removal is discussed in the following pages of this thread:

    15/22/29/30/47/50/92/135

    I noted these page numbers when i read this thread thoroughly for the very first time. Later some posts were deleted by the mods for the purpose of clarity. It changed the page numbers for some posts posted after the deleted ones. So it might happen that some of these pages might have gone offset by a page. However mostly, they will be correct.

    P.S: There might be some other pages too where it was discussed and i might have missed them.

    @optimusss
    rawfay is right, removing cat is a very simple job and should not cost you more than 100=150 rupees, whatever the mechanics charge just to touch the car, i have posted the procedure here, (you'd be surprised how simple it is)

    @gorkan

    man i know how simple it is i got it done infornt of my eyes. read ur diy. u got it taken out from beneath. according to ur diy he just broke the cat from beneath. however i felt that was a bit risky, because the sensor is located just above it. my mechanic got out the whole manifold and broke it simple and easily(no risks involved). he had to unbolt a couple of screws n then remove the complete manifold. it was a 1.5 hour job to itnay ziada pasay nahi hain when u look at the work involved.

    @solja786
    read the above text.
    about the centeral locking not working with one door. i had the same prb. its actually prety simple. ur centeral locking motor is down. u can either get it repaired or change it. i got mine changed much simpler. its located in the door which is not working.
    here's my broken one.

    ya, you are right, the sensor can be damaged while breaking the cat from below, but if you are careful and know that the sensor is there, then its fairly easy to avoid damaging it.

    @ALL

    Hi everyone, hope every1 is doing well. I posted this query some time ago but didnt get the response I was hoping for. I have a 2005 vitz (A/T). Recently got the oil changes from Itehad PSO is KHI. I got Castrol 10-30 put in it. After that I have been experiencing lower rpms when the car is standing at a traffic light in gear. When I put it in parking is becomes ok. The interior lights also flicker a little to match the car rpms.
    Also, at lower speeds, like slowing down for a speed breaker, the car downshifts and becomes really heavy.

    Do I need to change the oil? Is it the transmission? What do I do? transmission fluid change? change to what? what oil?

    Guidance pleaseeeeee...

    thanks every1

    Seems like some electronics not working properly in your car. Get it checked from a reliable workshop. Preferably a Toyota authorized dealership.

    Sun2sunny is right. U better go for the china one. Its range is gud and perfoms gud duty. If u were in Peshawer u might have found it in shoba. Or if in Karachi then plaza or Shershah. As of Isb i dont know.
    When injustice becomes law, rebellion becomes duty. Kill few become a murderer, Kill more become a conqueror. It's not about the money. It's about the money. Remember everything, forgive nothing.
