    Default Toyota Vitz Owners/Fan Club

    The purpose of this post is to gauge the interest in forming a Toyota Vitz Owners Club in different cities of Pakistan. As we all know that Vitz has become quite popular in the last year or so. More and more people are buying it or are interested to know more about it. The purpose of the club would be to share technical / operational information regarding the car. As well as help fellow members with different issues regarding the everyday running of the car. There would be regular meets and get together as well as cruises. The criteria to join the club would be to own a Vitz and a desire to help and share information with fellow members. I myself am based in Karachi, so I can take the lead in taking off this project here. Other can do the similar thing in their respective cities. If there is enough interest, a formal charter / by-laws would be issued with club rules and regulation as well as its mission statement. The club would operate under the same rules & conditions as other international car clubs. To take this project off the ground, I believe 10 people in each city would be the minimum requirement. If anyone from Karachi is interested in being a part of this club, please email me at danyal1@hotmail.com. Pakwheelers from other cities can share their email addresses under this post if they are willing to take the lead for their respective cities. I hope to this see become a success someday and a model for other to follow. LETS MAKE IT HAPPEN GUYS!!!

    My 2 cents:

    1.Pros:
    Easy to drive, specially in stop & go traffic conditions.

    Cons:
    No push-start option;
    Too expensive to repair the transmission in case it gets messed up;

    2. performance with CNG has been satisfactory, as reported by members here.

    3. Pick gets dropped, as it gets in all other vehicles i believe.

    I m perhaps the least experienced person on this thread, so standby for the experts/experienced chaps to drop their comments too.

    ^^MASS AIR FLOW sensor

    (*) @ Storm,

    Boss if your still following the thread, can you please explain that why the charging (battery) light comes on if car battery is not good/powerfull. Is it due to the better equiped (cutouts) alternators??? sensing that the battery is low etc.....

    While as soon as we press the accelarator light goes off..... the Cluster display lights go brighter and the OBD also goes ON.

    What to do???? change battery or alternator....

    P.S. Car runs fine.. ven better......

    @bmehmud
    You didn't break it up while removing ?
    Was there any welding work involved after the removal ?
    Is there any increase in noise ?
    Did you get any resonator installed to overcome the noise problem after removing the cat ?

    @akifnaseer
    1. It was not broken while it was removed. The silencer was opened from the welding flame (by melting the metal) and the filter was removed intact (it was also covered with additional coating, clearly visible besides the CAT).
    2. It was welded again to join the opening. It was opened C-shaped and that piece was welded back professionally.
    3. There no noice increase at all. Rather car is more smooth now.
    4. No resonator installed because noice was no increased.

    Keep it in mind that it is first CAT that is near to engine. There are two bulging structures in your silencer assembly if you look it from beneath the car. The CAT that is near to exhaust was not removed because it was not chocked.

    I removed it from a silencer shop if you go from Sadar Pindi to City Sadar Road. It is just after the famous Heera Car Decoration shop. The cost was Rs. 500/- but worth it.

    Yes this is universal problem with almost every CNG automatic Vitz i have seen. I do not experience it while driving on petrol. It is not observed in a manual CNG. An automatic uses specific ratios for gear change controlled by ECU. While on CNG car is low on power already and ECU is fooled by false signals by emulator installed with CNG kit. I guess it is something to do with ECU and emulator/ advancer settings. Refer to a qualified mechanic who can make setting from which you can experience this issue with less extent.

    I was facing same problem when I installed CNG in my Vitz auto. I tried to solve it by do it myself basis. I started my car and turned on my AC. I then grabbed the accelerator cable adjuster in the engine and pulled it quickly. The engine started to die. Then I increased the gas inflow by loosing the main screw a bit. Its response was improved. I then adjusted the gas inflow where this was happening least. Now I experience it but it is not that much severe that car speed dies to 5 or 7 Km/h. It is experienced till around 20-30 Km/h and then car catches speed.

    Also try to remove the CAT in your silencer if you have not removed it.

    @bmehmud
    Thanks for the explanation.
    I asked Toyota Ravi, and they said they would charge Rs.1500 for it.

    BTW, there is a sort of DIY by @gorkaan in the DIY section too, which involves breaking it up in order to avoid welding work. But if the welding work is done with expertise, i guess it is a cleaner way of removing it.

    @Khubi
    Check engine light is not appearing in my Vitz. I really do not know the reason but I read somewhere that this is due to the fact that O2 sensor is not detecting any petrol passing by because CNG is gas. Those emulator or advancer are also meant to send false signals to ECU that car is running on petrol.
    Brake hard also is due to low RPM of the engine on low speeds. Brakes work on hydrolic system and on low RPM hydrolics do not work perfectly. Tune your car and set your RPM on sufficient speed by a qualified person. Also get your CAT removed if not.
