    Default Toyota Vitz Owners/Fan Club

    The purpose of this post is to gauge the interest in forming a Toyota Vitz Owners Club in different cities of Pakistan. As we all know that Vitz has become quite popular in the last year or so. More and more people are buying it or are interested to know more about it. The purpose of the club would be to share technical / operational information regarding the car. As well as help fellow members with different issues regarding the everyday running of the car. There would be regular meets and get together as well as cruises. The criteria to join the club would be to own a Vitz and a desire to help and share information with fellow members. I myself am based in Karachi, so I can take the lead in taking off this project here. Other can do the similar thing in their respective cities. If there is enough interest, a formal charter / by-laws would be issued with club rules and regulation as well as its mission statement. The club would operate under the same rules & conditions as other international car clubs. To take this project off the ground, I believe 10 people in each city would be the minimum requirement. If anyone from Karachi is interested in being a part of this club, please email me at danyal1@hotmail.com. Pakwheelers from other cities can share their email addresses under this post if they are willing to take the lead for their respective cities. I hope to this see become a success someday and a model for other to follow. LETS MAKE IT HAPPEN GUYS!!!

    @softouch

    How did you got it removed? By the breaking and welding method or did you install a new pipe in the place of dholki?

    Yes Royal Shield is also applied to the bumpers and they did manage to remove more than 80% of the scratches on the metallic surface.

    @Chinyoti
    I must say you have given very useful and informative links.

    @Softouch
    The only reason for extra noise could be using non professionals for the job. I got mine removed from Danish cars (as mentioned by VitzRulz) who properly disassembled some engine parts to get to the cat housing body, removed the cat (without any welding job) and then reassembled the parts cleaning and servicing them in the process. The result is no noticeable change in engine sound.

    Dear Friends!
    I own the 2005 model. Want to know a good genuine toyota Vitz auto parts dealer in or near North Karachi.
    Moreover, anyone can please let me know where the Oil filter is located in the 2005 model. It's been tricky and I haven't been able to locate it neither my mechanic.

    @A.Moiz
    Thats the old story, you already know i guess. 2L is sufficient for a simple drain & refill. I had 2.5 to 3L when there was T-II; and after changing to 2L T-IV, the increase in pick was noticed. Later i checked the level in cold state, and it was between the two marks where "Cold" is written.
    Thanks for the pics. From where did you get the CNG cylinder/kit installed in Isb ?

    @All
    I don't think an average below 12km/L is ok for Vitz. Mine just touched its lowest (11.5km/L) since i bought it (in June '08). The highest being 16.5km/L (with & w/o AC).

    must be not welded properly or the mechanic might have left something inside. Got 3 vitz' CAT removed this way and there were no unusual sounds. Only at times it produces minor noise on high revs. Get it checked..

    @zubairmanzar

    hope you are fine dude. looks like you recently bought the vehicle and its going to be your first time you're going to change the oil/oil filter.

    in Vitz 2005, oil filter is of a slight different type, i.e. it does have a oil filter which contains a cartridge. When you change oil, only cartridge needs to be changed not the whole oil filter. The same kind of cartridge is used in Toyota Belta, Premio...

    I am in Lahore now and dont have access to my car, otherwise i have taken a picture and sent you, but here is a tip to locate the oil filter...

    open your bonet and try to find it on the left side (i.e. just deep below the washer liquid bottle)... the shape of the oil filter is exactly the same as a typical oil filter.

    Hope it helps...

    @zolojazz
    Thanks buddy for you reply!
    As far as spare parts are concerned, I managed to contact the Toyota Eastern and Western Motors in Karachi. They have all the parts available.

    Friend! You own a 2005 model; and if you have installed CNG, I wish to know about your experience in this regard.
    I have installed Lovato kit from a reputable dealer here, but since then, the performance has degraded to about 30-40% with respect to pick and RPM droppage while A/C is on.
    Again, I was not surprised by the inability of the mechanic to adjust the RPMs of the car.
    I'll appreciate your help in this.
