    Default Toyota Vitz Owners/Fan Club

The purpose of this post is to gauge the interest in forming a Toyota Vitz Owners Club in different cities of Pakistan. As we all know that Vitz has become quite popular in the last year or so. More and more people are buying it or are interested to know more about it. The purpose of the club would be to share technical / operational information regarding the car. As well as help fellow members with different issues regarding the everyday running of the car. There would be regular meets and get together as well as cruises. The criteria to join the club would be to own a Vitz and a desire to help and share information with fellow members. I myself am based in Karachi, so I can take the lead in taking off this project here. Other can do the similar thing in their respective cities. If there is enough interest, a formal charter / by-laws would be issued with club rules and regulation as well as its mission statement. The club would operate under the same rules & conditions as other international car clubs. To take this project off the ground, I believe 10 people in each city would be the minimum requirement. If anyone from Karachi is interested in being a part of this club, please email me at danyal1@hotmail.com. Pakwheelers from other cities can share their email addresses under this post if they are willing to take the lead for their respective cities. I hope to this see become a success someday and a model for other to follow. LETS MAKE IT HAPPEN GUYS!!!

I had the experience of cleaning the headlight of my civic. No need to open the seal of the lights. They'll dismental them, wash them wid surf, rub them wid sand paper then buff them wid buff machine using rubbing polish. Do not let them open the seal. It costed me 800rs for both lights and 2hrs.

in my case he opened the cover washed it and applied some polish and then buffed them but it was not still crystal clear but was better then before and at that time its cover was not available and i doubt if its covers are avilable you will need to buy the new lights better buy projection lights and keep these lights with you

    Asalaam o Alaikum!

I am a new driver for Vitz. Alhamdulillah bought a new 2005 model Vitz. Need to know some information about tuning, maintenance and other stuff related to it.

This car is completely computerized and no manual tuning I can see in it. So I need to know are there any mechanics having computerized tuning equipments? I am in Islamabad.

I read in different forums that there is catalytic converter that needs to be removed from the silencer. Is this really necessary?

Also I am feeling that my car is knocking and have to accelerate a bit to stop this noise.

The engine is vibrating a little bit, is this common in it?

Looking forward to hearing back from experts on this.

    Allah hafiz,
    Wajid

I think the knocking is due to non unleaded fuel we have in our country.

    @eguru
In my opinion, you will have to get your car's throttle body cleaned with NASA spray or any other carburetor cleaner. It will noticably reduce the vibrations and knocking, and also increase fuel efficiency.
As far as the catalytic converter is concerned, we have had thorough discussion on it in this forum. In summary, catalytic converter removal is normally required in cars that have been running on leaded fuel for more than 6 months. The reason for this is that the lead in the exhaust disintegrates the converter and in effect blocks the exhaust system. The engine has to work harder to force out the exhaust through the blocked converter, and this is why its removal is suggested.

Sorry guys, I don't know any. But anyone who goes to shershah frequently would be able to help you. There must be a shop dedicated to vitz/platz parts, like the one in rawalpindi.

    aoa
this is faiq from karachi. alhamdullilah i have bought a vitz 2004 today.
    i have some queries.

    1) nvn-d53 navigation is installed. video card is also installed. i inserted the vcd cd in the cd player. the cd played. i could here the sounds but was unable to watch on the screen. as the language on the surrounding button is in japanese language. its quite hard to understand what to do. as soon as i press any key on the navigation. i can see the video being played for 2-3 seconds. after this the screen goes blank. if i press the button again the video is again shown for 2-3 sec. so it goes like this. what can be the problem. or solution.

    2) second query is that i dont want to change the default cd player of the car. and at the same time want to play mp3 cd's. is there any solution for playing mp3 wma cd's.

3)i have searched on internet for playing usb mp3 wma on these default bultin players. are these usb to cd changer devices available in karachi. if they are where and for how much.
