    Default Toyota Vitz Owners/Fan Club

The purpose of this post is to gauge the interest in forming a Toyota Vitz Owners Club in different cities of Pakistan. As we all know that Vitz has become quite popular in the last year or so. More and more people are buying it or are interested to know more about it. The purpose of the club would be to share technical / operational information regarding the car. As well as help fellow members with different issues regarding the everyday running of the car. There would be regular meets and get together as well as cruises. The criteria to join the club would be to own a Vitz and a desire to help and share information with fellow members. I myself am based in Karachi, so I can take the lead in taking off this project here. Other can do the similar thing in their respective cities. If there is enough interest, a formal charter / by-laws would be issued with club rules and regulation as well as its mission statement. The club would operate under the same rules & conditions as other international car clubs. To take this project off the ground, I believe 10 people in each city would be the minimum requirement. If anyone from Karachi is interested in being a part of this club, please email me at danyal1@hotmail.com. Pakwheelers from other cities can share their email addresses under this post if they are willing to take the lead for their respective cities. I hope to this see become a success someday and a model for other to follow. LETS MAKE IT HAPPEN GUYS!!!

    @ Rawfay

Yes you are right, i was travelling on highway late yesterday nite, the car changed to 4th gear after 70-80 speed, but it didnt reach 100, when i floored a lil i felt as if it downshifted but didn't know if that was a problem, i thot its how it is. so if i block the air intake pipe it'll reach 100n above? how much should i block 1/3, half or 2/3 ? cos the area is too small to be divided into four parts

About the RPM what i wanted to ask is: suppose your car is on D but you are not accelerating, the car should move ahead, rite? (Mine does at the speed of 8 km/h) but when i turn the ac on and put it into D and dont accelerate it hardly moves at 3-4 km/h. So if your idle speed is adjusted properly and the rpm is supposed to increase once you turn the ac on the car should atleast move at 8 or 10km/h. You get me?

Can you tell me which parts of the engine bay you cover with plastic and do you use a rubber band or something???

The last time I serviced my car, the service guy said no need for the plastic bag as he wont spray too much

    Dear All. AOA.
I am new to this forum. i have bought toyota vitz-99.i am havng problem with startup.initially i thought it is a battery problem. i changed it with a new one a week before. A day later it started after about 8 sulf.some one said there is mixing of oil and CNG.
After about three days it did not start in the morning even after long and repeated sulf.
The mobil oil clour was changed to near Gray(Zic)just after 800Km(Appx). today a mechanic told that there is mixing of oil and water due to gasket leakage.gasket change is recomended.
The car is not starting !! does it mean so.
    what you people recomend

For the oil in CNG, remove the screw with the 13no. paanaa the screw is right below your cng kit, its easy and it'll drain out the oil.

About the late car starting, try starting your car on Petrol only and once heated only then convert into CNG

for the Gaskit, it'll only die if your car has over heated or over heats alot. So you know better if it has, and if yes, get the second opinion from a mechanic and follow what your trusted mechanic says, not every mechanic is able to fix VITZ, so be careful.

my car always start on petrol and get converted after giving some race.
Yes once the car got overheated due to less water in radiator, afterwards late starting problem happened.mechanic says mixing of water and mobiloil due to leakage in gaskit or a part he says in the tappet cover. What is the construction of Vitz-99 engine. Is it similar to other efi engines.
What about the availability of its gaskit and other parts which may be replaced. & cost if somone has done so.

Also plz suggest what else shall i get repaired or replaced once the engine head is open to get maximum durability in my car. Also please suggest any other check which may keep the car upto date.

Cover the opening of the air intake pipe just a little less than half of it. And as i said earlier also..I tried it and it worked for me..might work for you as well The reason for doing this is tht cng requires less air to burn then petrol. So when you block the air intake..there are chances tht your car will be making perfect cng-air mixture for combustion.

    Abt RPM..its different here.

without AC in D mode my speed is normally 5-6km/h. When i switch on the AC rpm increases so tht the car doesnt shake due to AC's load (in D mode). I depress the brake pedal and it goes upto 8 km/h. Tht is how i've tuned it up. I hope you get it and i've added you.

These are the things i cover normally by wrapping a plastic bag over them. Tell him not to spray diesel after the wash. You can spray the needed parts with WD-40 spray yourself.

    @ Rawfay

Point 1.Actually i did cover the pipe, and i felt the change. Now the engine is shifting gears a little late, meaning more pick-up and power. Is that was is supposed to happen? IF yes, then good.

Point 2.About the RPM, even my car drives at 5-6km/h when just on D, but when i turn the AC on it falls down to 3-4km/h, Although the engine doesn't vibrate but you can feel as if you car slowed down. If you know what i mean. Does it have to do something with the idle setting or the CNG Peak screw at the top? Cos my idle screw is now 40-50% open, since you said opening the screw outside increases idle, right?

Point 3.Your car pic above, you spray diesal, but you wash your car, i got my car washed, the water sliped into plugs and god knows wherelse, completely ruined the pickup and drive with jerks and stuff, so my mechanic told me never to use water again for engine, and he sprayed something(Fluid like thing from his Pressurised GAS Pipe) he said it's a mixture of oil,atf etc which cleaned the engine but didnt' screw the plugs n stuff ( SO yeah a tip of advice for you here )

dude dont worry about the gaskit, everything is available here, just need to make whatever you buy is genuine, it'll cost you more but its worth it. My friend got his gaskit replaced and tappets set for Rs.6000, where is your mechanic, is he reliable? Since gaskit is being replaced, pls make sure you put water coolant inside when its all done and one other way to check is after its repaird, check for the bubbles when you accelerate your car, the water should not make bubbles or try to come out(pressure).

    Good Luck

no the car does not shake.
Infact i am in Mirpur Mathelo near Dharki. We have a workshop inside the company for vehicles. All company vehicles are maintained here. The mechanic there is confident and has performed similar jobs.
I will have to buy the spare parts from Sadikabad,Rahimyar khan or Sukkur. If not reliable then from LAhore.
I want to have jenuine parts.

Kindly mention the mileage of your car so tht we can suggest wht is better Head swap or rebuild.

Well it is like normal efi engines quite similar to Xlis engine.Secondly you have to change HeadGaskets,Rings and sometimes after overheating Sleeves and block is also damaged so in tht situation better to go for block swap
For workshops in LHR will suggets you if ur going for rebuild or swap

@ All the senior and experts

Correct me where i'm wrong but :
Guys need lil advice, since there are two screws on the cng kit, one is PEAK CNG adjuster on the top and the other is idle screw on the kit. Peak adjusts the cng goin in the ventury and idle adjusts the air. So my question is

1.How important is it to block the air intake pipe?
2.If its important then shouldn't you open the idle screw the same amount as you've blocked the pipe?
3.My problem is my car when on CNG/AC and at traffic jam(lets suppose) when i accelerate it feels like its not going ahead, and if i floor the accelerator , the engine picks up but that much speed isn't necessary at traffic jams as i have to apply brakes(which also gets hard) immediately.
4.I'm trying to find a combination of that idle, peak and blocking the pipe so i can drive safely and peacefully while on CNG.

    Folks any idea?
