    Default Toyota Vitz Owners/Fan Club

    The purpose of this post is to gauge the interest in forming a Toyota Vitz Owners Club in different cities of Pakistan. As we all know that Vitz has become quite popular in the last year or so. More and more people are buying it or are interested to know more about it. The purpose of the club would be to share technical / operational information regarding the car. As well as help fellow members with different issues regarding the everyday running of the car. There would be regular meets and get together as well as cruises. The criteria to join the club would be to own a Vitz and a desire to help and share information with fellow members. I myself am based in Karachi, so I can take the lead in taking off this project here. Other can do the similar thing in their respective cities. If there is enough interest, a formal charter / by-laws would be issued with club rules and regulation as well as its mission statement. The club would operate under the same rules & conditions as other international car clubs. To take this project off the ground, I believe 10 people in each city would be the minimum requirement. If anyone from Karachi is interested in being a part of this club, please email me at danyal1@hotmail.com. Pakwheelers from other cities can share their email addresses under this post if they are willing to take the lead for their respective cities. I hope to this see become a success someday and a model for other to follow. LETS MAKE IT HAPPEN GUYS!!!

    Its on CNG, y ? what does CNG got to do with the meter lights?

    And one more question, i've blocked the intake of my car to almost 30-40%, the drives smooth now and the gears are changing that frequently but somehow my mileage has reduced to 65kms, it used to give me 75-80km on 40litre CNG, Is it really important to block the intake?

    Bro it's not must to cover the intake. But to have better mileage people do it. None of my cars have CNG so am not very much good in it. Its not fault of your metre lights mate. I guess u need a tuning. When ever u start the car u shud press the accelerator little bit (till 2000 RPM) to switch onto gas. May b it solves your problem. But a friend of mine told me to start the car on petrol always in the morning.

    hahahah. Thankx buddy, i know its not the fault of meter lights if my car doesn;t start in the morning, but i'll follow ur advice and rev it up a lil in the morning.

    @ RawFay

    Dude, yes they are available as i said for Rs.40 and besides i know another trick to fix the bulbs, it requires just the small bulb and u curve the silver pins round the brown base yourself since i was new at this, i f..kd up my lights so i had to get another one, couldn't find that paper or anything to cover the lights with blue/red color so i fixed it as it's supposed too

    Bro did u find red bulbs for the interior lights i.e fan knobs and ac button?
    I'll suggest to go for ZIC 5W-30 its winter these days therefore and its pure synthetic oil, always install original oil filter not the guard one. As it's pure synthetic oil so minimum change it after 6000kms and max after 7000kms. If u change it early it leaves detergent in the engine and harms the engine. All 1.0L engine needs 3litre mobil oil engines above 1.0L displacement need 4litre oil. So you are suppose to buy 3litre can.

    First of all, sorry for replying late..I was out of town for a day.

    I'm also interested in the DIY. But I don't want to change the lights of the odo meter..just the instrument panel. You can open the dash by first removing this inner cover.

    Squeeze it a bit and pull it towards yourself.

    You can see its locking mechanism here.
    Toyota Vitz OwnersFan Club -903229

    Remove the AC knobs by pulling them and unscrew these..
    Toyota Vitz OwnersFan Club -903230

    Easy right? The only difficulty is to remove the switches and clips at the back attached to the instrumental panel. I hope it is not much different in post 2002 model.

    I couldn't do this alone or lets just say i didn't want to ruin it alone so if you're really up for it..we can work on it together.

    As vitzrulez said.. Zic A+ 5w-30 (Y) You'll for sure feel the difference!

    Bro in winter use 5w-30 as its pure synthetic oil and in summers i'll suggest 10w-30 or 20w-40. You can also use the same 5w-30 in summers also. It does'nt harms the engine. Once you use synthetic oil then you can't switch to another oil frequently.
    I asked you are the red bulbs for the instrument pannel (ac and fan knobs) available in the market?

    I tried, but no use, i opened the speedometer i could change the light of only cold/hot gauge, didn't see a bulb for the speedometer, maybe its inside the thing and not detachable like others very dissapointed, i tried changing the lights on the dash used red for ac direction and blue for fan speed but still no use, as the lights arent seperated the effect of blue and red was showing on both the controls so .. Fixed otherlights that weren't working tho. So guys, no use going through all that trouble and changing the lights, if only i could get my hands on that green speedometer bulb, where could it be :%

    Hi guys, I am getting problems with my brakes. The brakes feel a lil stiff and I need to press it down hard to stop the car. Also noticed that sometimes it makes noise when applying brakes. I showed it to a mechanic who says that I need to replace booster!
    Could this problem be due to break pads/shoes?? and if I need to change booster where can I get that in Karachi?

    Get your brakes serviced first and if needed..replace the pads/shoes. Don't listen to your mechanic..check the leather yourself and you should be able to figure out if they need any replacement or not.

    @antiflag

    Woah congrats! it looks nice but i wonder if you could also change the lights of the deck? It'd look really great.

    Nice job! Some querries regarding the bulbs. Was it difficult enough to do it as DIY? Because i dont wanna ruin my OEM one:p and yeah on the temperature knob on blue side u installed blue bulb or is it the same red one? From where to get these red and blue LEDS?

    @tsf
    I guess that mechanic is jus trying to ripp u off. U jus need to change the leathers. If its making the noise and hard to press, for sure leathers are finished. Change them soon before u ruin the discs.

    Thankx, this blue light part was tricky, i spray painted the bulbs with RED .. but the other bulb i had to be carfeul to spray paint only from the sides and not from the top so as to keep the blue light appear as it is And no it was a piece of cake, just drag the panel out, detach the clips, open the screws of the circuit board and take the board out, remove the bulbs by your finger tips(press and turn) and take em out. spray paint the bulbs and put it back on! get the MK1 leather pads yourself, for rs.1800 front and back. Give your discs to the leth machine wala rs.400 for 2. give your mechanic rs.500 for labour and there you go.

    When booster goes, you will loose the pedal stiffness at all, the noise is of a clip that is inbuilt in the pads that informs the driver that its time to replace.. dont worry, change your mechanic!
