    Default Toyota Vitz Owners/Fan Club

The purpose of this post is to gauge the interest in forming a Toyota Vitz Owners Club in different cities of Pakistan. As we all know that Vitz has become quite popular in the last year or so. More and more people are buying it or are interested to know more about it. The purpose of the club would be to share technical / operational information regarding the car. As well as help fellow members with different issues regarding the everyday running of the car. There would be regular meets and get together as well as cruises. The criteria to join the club would be to own a Vitz and a desire to help and share information with fellow members. I myself am based in Karachi, so I can take the lead in taking off this project here. Other can do the similar thing in their respective cities. If there is enough interest, a formal charter / by-laws would be issued with club rules and regulation as well as its mission statement. The club would operate under the same rules & conditions as other international car clubs. To take this project off the ground, I believe 10 people in each city would be the minimum requirement. If anyone from Karachi is interested in being a part of this club, please email me at danyal1@hotmail.com. Pakwheelers from other cities can share their email addresses under this post if they are willing to take the lead for their respective cities. I hope to this see become a success someday and a model for other to follow. LETS MAKE IT HAPPEN GUYS!!!

I have the same problem, i bought 2003 vitz. Its on Petrol and giving just 8Kms per liter. I only changed air filter. Does changing oil and filter make any difference in the mileage? Anything else i can do to make it better?

    oil
    oil filter
    air filter
    transmission fluid
    fuel pump
    fuel filter
    spark plugs
    etc
all of these things MUST be changed if you intend on getting any real results out of the car. also you must revert the car back to 100% stock if you intend on trying to achieve the same results as the factory.

my 04 auto used to give me 15 regularly.

As I came to know through this very thread, a chocked cat (catalytic convertor) won't let the car's speed go to 160kph, as your ride is achieving. When mine was chocked, the car couldn't go beyond 100kph (mine is Vitz 2004).

Thanks for the reply Storm, looks like i have to spend alot of money on these things. One more thing, the car has rim and tyres of size 195 which i think are too big compare to original vitz tyre. Any idea how much difference that make in the mileage?

    Oil filter = Rs150
Airfilter = 300-1000 (depends u get a local one or Toyota one)
Transmission Fluid toyota TIV (Rs1500 aproxx)
Fuel pump (get it checked dont just replace it)
Fuel Filter (get it checked cleaned, if it requires replacement then replace)
Spark plugs (Denso k-16ru-11) Rs.150 each.

Engine oil around 1100-1400 (good quality engine oil)

try the basics also get ur cars fuel/air mixture checked to attain optiumum output and mileage out of your car.
Get over the fact that Xli lacks power windows, Its an Xli because it lacks thoose features or else it would be a Gli or an Altis if had all the goodies.

i had 195/50R15's on my vitz which is exactly what the RS/T-sport had and there was little to no difference to the milage.

Right, so these huge tyres should not be a problem. Now I will change the rest of things (oil, plugs fluids etc) and hope mileage goes up to atleast 12km per litre.

Huge tires dont matter if u stick to the OEM calculations

    for eg

    155/80r13
    185/60r14
    195/50/15

    @ahsansunnypk

Vitz 2005 onward has been eqiped wid a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission). It is not a normal sequential Automatic.
Toyota recomends Toyota Type IV transmission oil for a normal Auto Transmission.
I think that for CVT Toyota Type IV is not recomended(that is what I think).
For CVT there are oils which are specifically recomended for Contuniously Variable Transmissions.
One thing is certain. You do need to change oil on every transmission. The change interval can vary from brand to brand.

Gurus here suggest to change all the fluids. However, I'll prefer keeping the original fluids until they are required to be changed due to their condition or reaching the milage they are required to be changed.
