    Default Toyota Vitz Owners/Fan Club

The purpose of this post is to gauge the interest in forming a Toyota Vitz Owners Club in different cities of Pakistan. As we all know that Vitz has become quite popular in the last year or so. More and more people are buying it or are interested to know more about it. The purpose of the club would be to share technical / operational information regarding the car. As well as help fellow members with different issues regarding the everyday running of the car. There would be regular meets and get together as well as cruises. The criteria to join the club would be to own a Vitz and a desire to help and share information with fellow members. I myself am based in Karachi, so I can take the lead in taking off this project here. Other can do the similar thing in their respective cities. If there is enough interest, a formal charter / by-laws would be issued with club rules and regulation as well as its mission statement. The club would operate under the same rules & conditions as other international car clubs. To take this project off the ground, I believe 10 people in each city would be the minimum requirement. If anyone from Karachi is interested in being a part of this club, please email me at danyal1@hotmail.com. Pakwheelers from other cities can share their email addresses under this post if they are willing to take the lead for their respective cities. I hope to this see become a success someday and a model for other to follow. LETS MAKE IT HAPPEN GUYS!!!

If it's only making a hissing sound when you've got the steering wheel at full lock (as far as it will turn to the left or right) then it's normal. Every car does it. The reason why is that when you turn your wheel until it wont turn anymore, the fluid flow to the pump is cut off, and the pump is forced into pressure relief (hence why it makes a loud hissing sound). Never hold your steering wheel on full lock for more than 10-seconds or you'll risk damaging the power steering pump. If it's making a hissing noise when you don't have the steering wheel at full lock, then I'd recommend getting it checked out by a mechanic.

thank you Kiwi for replying the query.
I have actually just replaced my tyres and rim with 195 55 15 & got the allingment done.
since i have changed them this hissing sound has started coming & yes i knew about the voice comes only when the steering is locked but mine is now coming contineously as i move the steering round.

I tried to show one of the mechanic i dong know if he is right or wrong he said the pump is turn weak so u have to replace it.

    What do you think?

Guys... recently i've been having an issue of low fuel consumption.

Went to Autoclub (Isb) some days back.... got throtle body, spark plugs and Oxygen sensor cleaned. They also adjusted the rpm for some reason. Now, it appears that the fuel economy has gone worse.

    It is "check engine" light.
It comes in CNG converted Vitz due to Oxygen sensor signal i suppose.

this is what happens when someone works on a car which is too advanced for their trinaing (if any). most likely your problem is related to the catalytic converter,... BUT we must know more about your car first. any mods/changes? is everything adjusted to how it should be (factory specs)?

check engine light could be from one of many reason. air flow sensor could be dirty, cat could be blocked, engine my need a tune-up, plugs could be incorrectly gapped, engine oil could be due for a change, fuel filter could be blocked, fuel pump could be failing.

too many variables for us to diagnose it online. take it to a qualified mechanic and have him take a look at it.

    Default Whistling Sound in VITZ

    Dear All

My Vitz - 2006 auto model is giving very high whistling sound. This sound resembles with "Phatti Hoi Dholki" ie Broken silencer sound and is very high on speed between 0 to 40. After 40 speed this sound vanishes and this sound is high on D gear and low on S gear.

Got silencer checked and its totally fine. The sound is probably a gear box issue, as when the car is in gear this sound comes and when gear is N - Neutral this sound vanishes. But i am not sure 100% that it is gear box issue only.

Do you have any clue how i can get rid of this unwanted sound and my mechanic is unable to understand the reason, so any good mechanic in Lahore for Vitz?

    @Storm

I have already removed the catalytic converter; I hope there is only one.
No mods.... at least not after it came under my possession.
I've been calculating its fuel average almost since i bought it back in 2008. It has been around 12-14.5 km/hr.

That AutoClub dude also adjusted the gap of spark plugs.
I wonder if there is any need of tapet adjustment!?

Vitzes foot boards dont hit, the beams under the car hit the speed breakers. i guess thoose are used for lifting the car for servicing.
Get over the fact that Xli lacks power windows, Its an Xli because it lacks thoose features or else it would be a Gli or an Altis if had all the goodies.
