    Default Toyota Vitz Owners/Fan Club

The purpose of this post is to gauge the interest in forming a Toyota Vitz Owners Club in different cities of Pakistan. As we all know that Vitz has become quite popular in the last year or so. More and more people are buying it or are interested to know more about it. The purpose of the club would be to share technical / operational information regarding the car. As well as help fellow members with different issues regarding the everyday running of the car. There would be regular meets and get together as well as cruises. The criteria to join the club would be to own a Vitz and a desire to help and share information with fellow members. I myself am based in Karachi, so I can take the lead in taking off this project here. Other can do the similar thing in their respective cities. If there is enough interest, a formal charter / by-laws would be issued with club rules and regulation as well as its mission statement. The club would operate under the same rules & conditions as other international car clubs. To take this project off the ground, I believe 10 people in each city would be the minimum requirement. If anyone from Karachi is interested in being a part of this club, please email me at danyal1@hotmail.com. Pakwheelers from other cities can share their email addresses under this post if they are willing to take the lead for their respective cities. I hope to this see become a success someday and a model for other to follow. LETS MAKE IT HAPPEN GUYS!!!

guys , i was wondering if anyone has ever changed their intake manifold ? My intake manifold is leaking air from couple of places, i have tried getting it taped from those places but it results in car getting too lean ..
Where can i get hold of one ?
And also what if i replace the original manifold with a performance cold air intake ? i know it makes no difference on cng , but i am not looking for an increase anyway , was just wondering if it would be a better/cheaper way to replace the intake manifold..
    Cheers

Just throw away the CNG kit, get tappet clearance done again...
O/D button can be fixed no big issue, it might just have got short..

I have recently purchased a vitz 99. There is a problem with the overdrive button. The issue is that overdrive does not turn off when i press O/D button. It remains in Overdrive mode, morover when i press the O/D button to turn it off, no indication light for O/D off appears in the Meter.

I want to know what might be the cause of it? Is it a bad temperature sensor? or A fault in the gear system? or Some cfaulty connections?
Please help me out to resove this issue.

Secondly, there is another strange problem in my car. Initially the pick of the car was good on both petrol and CNG, but suddenly the performance has dropped on CNG as well as on Petrol. The car wont climb even on a slightly inclined road and loses its power. I have got the Tappets checked, i have got the plugs checked and they are OK.

Sometimes when the car is converted to CNG while in standing position and i try to accelerate it it just dies and wont move forward. But once i turn it to petrol and convert it to CNG in running position it runs fine, but as soon as i slow down the car, and i try to accelerate it again it gives up. What can be the problem? Should i go for computerised tuning. I have Garrage Masters behing the Firbrigade are good for Computerised tuning. Can anyone share his experience please. What do they charge for complete tuning?

O/d button on means car runs on 4 gears(No light)
Old button off (red light) car run on 3 gears

G-8 Nazir has computerize scanning seems costly.
There is one wazir car scan in Firbrigade market, may be fist try that one.

CNG issue is common in Vitz but when AC is On.
If you Advancer is working fine it can avoid.
Other than that a good CNG machanic can adjust the CNG and this problem can be resolved.

O/D is not a forth gear, it simply disengages the turbine of torque converter and flywheel output goes straight to the transmission. Ratios are set in such a way that say output rpm (of gearbox) is more than input rpm (engine rpm)
    thats why its called "overdrive"

Hey all, I have recently purchased bosch FR6-MPP-332 by BOSCH as suggested by a friend who said it would boost up economy and performance. Please tell me if it would make any difference?

how did you know that your gear oil had to be changed, i recently read an article that said it can last the life time of manual transmission unless there is a leak or something is terribly wrong

I have a manual transmission. Does the fluid in it ever need to be changed?

oh bhai jaan, there is already enough confusion about o/d on this forum so better not confuse users with this jargon, o/d precisely mean 4th gear in case of vitz and pressing o/d off button does nothing more than enabling/disabling the 4th gear.

for more information and theory, see Overdrive (mechanics) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
    or search on google.com
