    Default Toyota Vitz Owners/Fan Club

The purpose of this post is to gauge the interest in forming a Toyota Vitz Owners Club in different cities of Pakistan. As we all know that Vitz has become quite popular in the last year or so. More and more people are buying it or are interested to know more about it. The purpose of the club would be to share technical / operational information regarding the car. As well as help fellow members with different issues regarding the everyday running of the car. There would be regular meets and get together as well as cruises. The criteria to join the club would be to own a Vitz and a desire to help and share information with fellow members. I myself am based in Karachi, so I can take the lead in taking off this project here. Other can do the similar thing in their respective cities. If there is enough interest, a formal charter / by-laws would be issued with club rules and regulation as well as its mission statement. The club would operate under the same rules & conditions as other international car clubs. To take this project off the ground, I believe 10 people in each city would be the minimum requirement. If anyone from Karachi is interested in being a part of this club, please email me at danyal1@hotmail.com. Pakwheelers from other cities can share their email addresses under this post if they are willing to take the lead for their respective cities. I hope to this see become a success someday and a model for other to follow. LETS MAKE IT HAPPEN GUYS!!!

This is the temperature gauge. Green means engine temp is ok.

If it's red, means car is getting hot..

Default Does cv joint of yaris 2006 fits vitz 2006?

Hi i am new to this forum. I have a Toyota vitz 2006 model 1.0 lt engine automatic. Yesterday my passenger front wheel was jammed while i was steering at low speed. I towed the car to my mechanic. The problem was that the housing of the cv joint (outer cv joint) was cracked . My mechanic said that I need to buy one, the new kit comes with the driveshaft attached to it. I can`t find any 2nd handone at the oment. I want to know if the cv joint of yaris 2006 fits the vitz 2006 automatic.

Hi guyz im planning to go for 2006 or 07 Vitz. Since gas prices are soon going to be up above ''Burj-Dubai'' so I have two important Question at this time...
    1. WHAT IS FUEL AVERAGE /MILAGE of 1000cc 2006 or later model Vitz..? Whether 1300cc or 1000cc gives better milage? Also Vitz has a Climate control Variant, does that do any good to fuel economy or milage??
    2. What is Catalyst Converter & what are the advantages and disadvantages of its removal...??

Good choice, well the fuel average of a 1.0L in the city is anywhere between 14-16Km/L. Yes, climate control is optional the only advantage it gives is that it has a LCD reading, shows the outdoor temperature as well as the temperature inside the vehicle. It also has a few features such as 'auto' A/C option etc.

A catalytic converter is a toxic gases converter, it's basic job is to converter harmful gases into less-harmful/non-toxic gases and cause less emission as possible. I wouldn't remove a catalytic converter if I were you. It increases the noise while you accelerate or even if your car is idling. Remove it only if it's choking the exhaust otherwise don't mess with it.

    Murtaza,

Does the climate control feature come in 2008 version also? The lcd with outside and inside temp sounds interesting

Also how does one come to know if the exhaust is choking? Reduced power when driving?

Thanks murtaza for ur answer....! Cuming to specific question that Whether 1300cc or 1000cc has a better fuel economy..?
Secondly a friend (who is driving 06 vitz on petrol) told me that it does only 13-14 in city and if i remove the catalytic converter it'll increase the milage upto 17-19km/l...? Climate control doesnt increase fuel milage or economy..??

I am interested to change to Yaris / Vitz and now bit confused in choosing the Vitz or Yaris, my question is for the Knocking of the Car as previous experience of 2006 Vitz with Climate Control and Fuel Economy was awesome car but had alot of Knocking issue, as i assume 1300 cc(2NZ-FE) option would be less on Knocking on normal Super as finding the Hi-Octane is also bit issue many times, but 1000cc can save more as mostly need to be driven for Islamabad.

Please provide any experience story of comparison between them.

    1. Manual Transmission (Can save more Fuel )
    2. Better interior and function
    3. Better Fuel Economy
    4. Rigidity
    5. Able to Cope the Summers of Pakistan
    6. Better Suspension
    7. Passenger Security
    8. Value of the Money
    9. Knocking on normal Super Fuel

For resale hopefully not going to sell it in 4-5 years Insha Allah, unless it leads me to.
Please comment, if any of you selling some condition Yaris / Vitz in Islamabad or Rawalpindi, please also let me know.

Basically i want to choose between Yaris (UK) or Vitz (Japan).

It's optional, very few cars come with climate control.

Reduced power, reduced acceleration, jerks while reving idly.

The 1000cc obviously has a better fuel economy as compared to the 1300cc variant. 13-14Km/L in the city isn't bad AT ALL. Do not remove the catalytic converter, it'll help you in the short-run but it'll create more problems in the long-run.

No, the climate control system does not have anything to do with the fuel mileage or economy.

You would only be able to get the UK spec Yaris if you want manual transmission. The only JDM variant that comes with a manual transmission is the 1.5L RS which is pretty expensive as compared to 1.0L and 1.3L variants.

However, a 1.0L or a 1.3L F package would be a good option. But a 1.0L Yaris isn't a bad option either, but remember it'll be a 'UK' spec made only for the UK according to their weather and environmental standards. The rest is up to you ofcourse
