    Default Toyota Vitz Owners/Fan Club

The purpose of this post is to gauge the interest in forming a Toyota Vitz Owners Club in different cities of Pakistan. As we all know that Vitz has become quite popular in the last year or so. More and more people are buying it or are interested to know more about it. The purpose of the club would be to share technical / operational information regarding the car. As well as help fellow members with different issues regarding the everyday running of the car. There would be regular meets and get together as well as cruises. The criteria to join the club would be to own a Vitz and a desire to help and share information with fellow members. I myself am based in Karachi, so I can take the lead in taking off this project here. Other can do the similar thing in their respective cities. If there is enough interest, a formal charter / by-laws would be issued with club rules and regulation as well as its mission statement. The club would operate under the same rules & conditions as other international car clubs. To take this project off the ground, I believe 10 people in each city would be the minimum requirement. If anyone from Karachi is interested in being a part of this club, please email me at danyal1@hotmail.com. Pakwheelers from other cities can share their email addresses under this post if they are willing to take the lead for their respective cities. I hope to this see become a success someday and a model for other to follow. LETS MAKE IT HAPPEN GUYS!!!

You would need the whole 4L (L = liter) canister for a complete flush and replacement.

Default How to open the air intake assembly on the 1KR-FE & location of the throttle body

I posted this in the Belta owners/fan club thread. The 1KR-FE is optional in both vehicles so this information would be useful here as well.

First of all you will have to open up the red circled clamps in order to proceed any further.

    Toyota Vitz Owners/Fan Club - DSC01924 1

That is the throttle body below the golden ring, @Zubair530.

    Toyota Vitz Owners/Fan Club - DSC01925

Take all four clamps off of the air intake assembly. There are two other areas which you will have to move the assembly from.

    Toyota Vitz Owners/Fan Club - DSC01931

First of all you would have to take the air filter out, just lift the assembly a little and pull the filter out it's flexible so don't worry about breaking it. Just do yourself a favor and don't rush. Out goes the air filter.

    Toyota Vitz Owners/Fan Club - DSC01933

Now you will have to pull the assembly upwards very carefully. The circled fixtures are what you will have to take care of. This is what is looks like when the assembly is taken off.

    Toyota Vitz Owners/Fan Club - DSC01955

Now once the assembly is off, place it in a safe area where no one steps on it.

    Toyota Vitz Owners/Fan Club - DSC01934

Just behind the ignition coils is the throttle body, here is a view of it.

    Toyota Vitz Owners/Fan Club - DSC01936

Here's the throttle bodies view from the inside. You can clean it with a carburetor cleaner spray it won't harm the throttle body.

    Toyota Vitz Owners/Fan Club - DSC01937

Notice this fixture clamp, it's covered with carbon deposit. Clean it up with a tissue or a old rag before putting the assembly back on. You're going to have to use your pinky finger in order to clean it up, the area is quite congested.

Depends on how well your car is maintained, anywhere between 14-15Km/L in the city is fine. On the highway it should give you 17Km/L +

The service manual that I got downloaded thru the toyota yaris forums for 1kr-fe says 3.1 L

    I'm copying and pasting:

"Warm up the engine, stop the engine and wait 5 minutes. The oil level
should be between the dipstick's low level mark and full level mark.
If low, check for leakage and add oil up to the full level mark."

    NOTICE:
Do not fill with engine oil to above the full level mark.

    4. ADD ENGINE OIL

With oil filter change 3.1 liter (3.3 Us qts, 2.7 lmp. qts)

Without oil filter change 2.9 liter (3.1 Us qts, 2.6 lmp. qts)

Dry fill 3.4 liter (3.6 Us qts, 3.0 lmp. qts)"
