    Default Toyota Vitz Owners/Fan Club

The purpose of this post is to gauge the interest in forming a Toyota Vitz Owners Club in different cities of Pakistan. As we all know that Vitz has become quite popular in the last year or so. More and more people are buying it or are interested to know more about it. The purpose of the club would be to share technical / operational information regarding the car. As well as help fellow members with different issues regarding the everyday running of the car. There would be regular meets and get together as well as cruises. The criteria to join the club would be to own a Vitz and a desire to help and share information with fellow members. I myself am based in Karachi, so I can take the lead in taking off this project here. Other can do the similar thing in their respective cities. If there is enough interest, a formal charter / by-laws would be issued with club rules and regulation as well as its mission statement. The club would operate under the same rules & conditions as other international car clubs. To take this project off the ground, I believe 10 people in each city would be the minimum requirement. If anyone from Karachi is interested in being a part of this club, please email me at danyal1@hotmail.com. Pakwheelers from other cities can share their email addresses under this post if they are willing to take the lead for their respective cities. I hope to this see become a success someday and a model for other to follow. LETS MAKE IT HAPPEN GUYS!!!

Default Workshops trying to fool Vitz owners...

I had a constant tik tik noice coming like diesel engines. I went to a very well known workshop in G-7 to inspect. After inspection, they said this is timing chain fault and whole package would cost Rs. 10,000 to replace.

To get a second opinion, I went to a workshop in Pindi Sadar and they told me that this is not timing chain problem but water body is faulty. I decided to go for it and they changed it in Rs. 2,700. After changing the noise is not coming a car is smooth again.

This is a request to my dear workshop owners to kindly try not to feed their children with haram maal. They can earn a reasonable amount if they try to earn fairly.

    Regards,

    Bilal

    Engine Oil Decrease

Dear members I need an advice regarding Engine Oil Decrease.

I have been noticing from past few oil changes that there is a decrease of Engine oil ranging from 500ml to 750ml. Initially I started with Zic A then moved to Zic A+ at third time. Then moved back to Zic A after two oil changes because there was more oil decrease in case of Zic A+. I have been using Zic Customer centre Nishat (Near DHA, Lahore).
I have checked with few mechanics and they say that Engine is weak (Ring pistons). However one good mechanic said that it is because of Zic oil only.

Usually I change oil after 3,800 to 4,000 km.

Could you guys please suggest me what to do. And how I can make sure that engine is weak.
My car is 77,000km driven. And I am surprised, why engine is weak and how it happened because I have been using it quite gently.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
    Do good, have good.

I check it quite frequently..... With dip stick its quite simple. I note the level at the time of change and then keep observing it from time to time.

Hmmm. How much oil is decreasing? If it's very less then may be it's due to zic. But if your ride is loosing a lot of oil then it cant be zic. There is a good possibility of worn out engine. Oil may have been leaking due to worn out piston rings or may be you are losing oil through the head gasket into the cooling system (very less possibility).

I am not an expert but just check this guide for some information:

Troubleshooting Oil Consumption - Is Your Engine Burning Oil, Leaking Oil - Low Oil Level Diagnosis

If you find no problem in the engine and you feel that this is only due to zic thn try switching to a high mileage oil. I have not used zic till now. But I use LiquiMoli 10W-40. This number is normally used for vichles driven less then 100,000 Kms. But afterwards they recommend to use 15w-40 or even 20W-40. More is the rating number the oil would be more thicker, so that there is a less chance of oil slipping through oil seals. You can try more thicker zic or any other top market oil.

    Best of luck,
    regards,

^ Thank you brother Syed Shoaib.

    Now my question is:
What are the other symptoms of a Weak Engine despite of Oil Reduction?

I remember Xulfiqar bhai once explained it on pakwheels. Check this thread, specifically this post I am sending you the link. mani2020 had the same problem.

    Signs of a weak engine.

Go through this complete thread you will find various good points, despite of the fact that mani2020's problem was not solved.

Also check this thread: Same question put forward by zilla.

What are the signs of weak engine?

Please change the Oil Grade and Observe it on Weekly Basis, or add Liqui Moly CERATEC in the Engine. It will help, also change the Engine Oil Filter regularly. Make sure you have no leaks or any Oil Sum ups.

Yesterday did some work on my Vitz after almost a month of purchasing it:

    1. Throttle body removal and clean
    2. MAF sensor clean
    3. Replacement of air filter (Thailand) Rs.750
    4. Spark plugs clean as they were in relatively good condition
    5. Cabin filter clean
    6. Scanning of the car (no fault codes)

Just out of curiosity I asked the guy at the workshop about CVT replacement details. He gave the correct oil i.e. Toyota CVT-TC and showed me a sample of the tin he had and how it has to be drained from the pan below which has to be opened. But when I asked him about filling it he show me the wrong nut to open. Thanks to another post here on PW about proper drain / refil of CVT transmission oils in Vitz / Passo etc. I was aware.

So I guess not many people know where the filler port is on the Vitz :-s Now thinking twice whether to replace the CVT or just go with it.

Great job! Enjoy your well maintained ride

The filler port on vitz for gear oil has "TC" written on it. This is the code of oil which this gear box supports. As you have mentioned "CVT-TC".

    Best of luck

How about cleaning the Air Filter? as i have the Manual of Vitz in book format but its all Japanese , also how much u paid for all above things, CVT Oil costs Rs. 3800 for 4 Liter Packing and if the Transmission is smooth you can go for some time.

I will try inshAllah. The TC is written on the BOLT which closes the gear oil PORT.
