    Default Toyota Vitz Owners/Fan Club

    The purpose of this post is to gauge the interest in forming a Toyota Vitz Owners Club in different cities of Pakistan. As we all know that Vitz has become quite popular in the last year or so. More and more people are buying it or are interested to know more about it. The purpose of the club would be to share technical / operational information regarding the car. As well as help fellow members with different issues regarding the everyday running of the car. There would be regular meets and get together as well as cruises. The criteria to join the club would be to own a Vitz and a desire to help and share information with fellow members. I myself am based in Karachi, so I can take the lead in taking off this project here. Other can do the similar thing in their respective cities. If there is enough interest, a formal charter / by-laws would be issued with club rules and regulation as well as its mission statement. The club would operate under the same rules & conditions as other international car clubs. To take this project off the ground, I believe 10 people in each city would be the minimum requirement. If anyone from Karachi is interested in being a part of this club, please email me at danyal1@hotmail.com. Pakwheelers from other cities can share their email addresses under this post if they are willing to take the lead for their respective cities. I hope to this see become a success someday and a model for other to follow. LETS MAKE IT HAPPEN GUYS!!!

    @DreamGirl
    I also had to lift my 2002 vitz after CNG converstion. For this job i went to one of the shock specialist in Rwp [DORA] in Saddar Rwp. He replaced rear springs with big ones, original spring comes with 6-7 rings and he replaced them with 8-10 rings spring. for front spings he placed rubber packing. My car has been running as good as it was before. It costed me total RS. 1500.
    One precaution he advised me that avoid excessive oil/diesel on rubber packing when washing/servicing car, as it deteriorates rubber packining in long run and cause problems.

    @WZAHOOR,

    Yaar what about the grip problem after replacing the packing issue as most ppl are saying that the grip is lost? what is your experience about it?

    Secondly can you please share your CNG conversion experience? as how much did it cost? from where you did the conversion in Rwp? and any problem with engine light after conversion?

    Thanks in advamce for your reply...

    RE: Road Grip: I didn't feel any difference after lifting the car. It is as good as it was before. Once i had to apply emergency brakes and ABS worked very fine and there was absolutely no issue. I suggest you to consult someone else as well on this issue as I'm not an expert by any means. You know I'm just sharing my experiencing with you ppl.

    RE: CNG Conversion: Well I got it converted from Toyota Rawal motors in 37K. they installed landirenzo kit, neo-tek's emulator and advancer with 58.5 liter cylinder. Yes i have been facing issue of check engine indicator since CNG conversion. Also my car has been suffering starting problem since on CNG. Let me explain in detail, it is like when car starts, it starts on petrol and immediately converts itself on CNG, during this process it starts missing and i have to struggle [by starting twice or thrice] to get it on cng but once it is converted on cng its fine then. I checked this problem with couple of other mechanics in rwp/isb. they advised that there is issue with emulator. I then went to toyota rawal and they very kindly replaced emulator, advancer and change over switch. but problem was still persisting. last week i went to one mechaic in G10 (Automax) what he did that he connected change over swith directly from one of the sparc plugs lead and now when I start my car it does not immediately convert on CNG rather remain on petrol until i give it rpm to about 4. For the last one week starting problem has gone also there is no more check engine indicator. I'm still monitoring it closely, if it was the acutal cause of the problem before concluding any final results.

    @wazhoor
    the cause of the problem is that your coils have become weak. this is a common problem with cng. also, neotek doesnt make the best emulators and advancers in the world. i would recommend getting your coils checked, getting the setting of the rockers (tapids) checked, getting the condition of the MAF sensor checked, and once all of those things have been checked, get your neotek advancer replaced by one from landirenzo.

    offcourse you can get a nice vitz in 4.5k, most likely 2000-01 depends on the condition a good 99 vitz might cost you the same. i dont remember the names but i have seen very good dealers posting here from lahore , please search the old topics in the forum you should be able to find them by seaching "vitz for sale".
    or get it from alta i think vitz are cheap here in karachi as compare to lahore

    i wanna buy witz, ppl have created some doubts in my mind;
    1) its auto gear gives u problem after sometime.
    2) its cng convertion dont work as well as others company fitted do.
    3) availability of spare parts is an issue in isl/rwp, if available are v v expensive as compared with other available local models.

    i dont have lots of experience with cars, so need a sound advice on above; also can anyone suggest me which one is the best model to take and where to get the good deals in rwp/isb

    @faisalameer
    1)As far as i know, auto transmission is being used in vehicals since early 80s throughout the world. By now this technology has matured to perfection and there is absulotely no problem with auto gears if u take a proper care of transmission oil [i.e. it needs to be changed every 50,000 KM]. You know what, in middle east auto transmission model is expensive than manual transmission model, which proves that auto transmission is not bad by any means.
    2)CNG works in vitz and other imported cars as good as it works with local (compan fitted CNG) cars. This is true that u migh get check engine indicator ON after CNG conversion but it is not serious issue as it is in almost 99% of imported cars, rest is okay on CNG.
    3)You cannot compare vitz (or any other imported car) with local cars, there is no match between two. Yes parts are of course expensive than local cars but quality, comfort and options available in these cars are far better than local cars. Someone quoted earlier on this forum that Charade is still running on roads and that if those cars have no serious problems with parts then why any problem with vitz?

    @faisalameer,

    auto transmission is not an issue, this is our logic otherwise it is the most popular car in the world pplz all over the world are not idiot its the technology but you need to take care of it otherwise no issue you can see the old hondas running here in pakistan and i have not seen any serious issues in them.

    Yes CNG conversion is a bit expensive but make sure you install it from a reputable place who are experts in converting EFI cars not from any petrol pump or any mechanic they might save you same money but in the end you might have to pay it.

    i am using my car since 8 months and so are my friends and none of us have faced any issue regarding parts, even if ur engine is busted you can get it here in karachi in around 22-25k !! what else do u need. not sure about the rwp / isl otherwise no issues in lhr and khi.

    @faisalameer

    In addition to what others have said, I'll just say that if you like getting involved with your car a bit, then it's better to go for 2nd hand imported cars especially vitz. e.g. you would have to know where to buy good filters and good oil from etc. etc. Being old cars, they'll need slightly more care than new ones (especially as not many mechanics know about them here).

    For people who don't want to get involved, I recommend them getting local new cars, because they don't want to go searching for parts etc. they just want to give the car to the official dealership and let them do everything.

    Overall, if you get involved in the process and get a 2nd hand car in good condition, then its of much better value. Being an owner of a 99 vitz (running on cng), I'm glad I got this car.
