    Default Toyota Vitz Owners/Fan Club

The purpose of this post is to gauge the interest in forming a Toyota Vitz Owners Club in different cities of Pakistan. As we all know that Vitz has become quite popular in the last year or so. More and more people are buying it or are interested to know more about it. The purpose of the club would be to share technical / operational information regarding the car. As well as help fellow members with different issues regarding the everyday running of the car. There would be regular meets and get together as well as cruises. The criteria to join the club would be to own a Vitz and a desire to help and share information with fellow members. I myself am based in Karachi, so I can take the lead in taking off this project here. Other can do the similar thing in their respective cities. If there is enough interest, a formal charter / by-laws would be issued with club rules and regulation as well as its mission statement. The club would operate under the same rules & conditions as other international car clubs. To take this project off the ground, I believe 10 people in each city would be the minimum requirement. If anyone from Karachi is interested in being a part of this club, please email me at danyal1@hotmail.com. Pakwheelers from other cities can share their email addresses under this post if they are willing to take the lead for their respective cities. I hope to this see become a success someday and a model for other to follow. LETS MAKE IT HAPPEN GUYS!!!

I am using Vitz 2005. It is really a wonderful car. However, I have encountered the following problem:

I use my car occasionally and normally it remains parked at my home. Just before this latest winter season began I changed my car battery as that battery was weakened. I placed OSAKA 60amp battery in it. I thought that I would give me some relief from tension to keep car running everyday but unfortunately it didn?t happen. Since I placed this battery I had to have a ride every alternate day (i.e. within 48 hours of previous ride) otherwise car refuses to start L

Possible reasons that click in my mind are as follows:

Poor quality battery that is discharged even by clock (timer) in parked car.
Poor quality generator that do not charge battery properly.
Plugs need service / tuning as almost a year have been passed since I got plugs change. However, I drove only 3,000 KM in last year therefore I think that plugs are not expired yet.

Kindly identify the reason and it?s solution that you think appropriate in these circumstances.
make sure battery connection r properly,
any light left remain ON (roof, dicky, door lights)
ur key less remote some time effect on ur battery

more guide lines may b from any expert on Pak/W

ITs over all a good car, But isnt fun to drive becasue of the low acceleration becasue of CVT and the loud noise it makes.
Get over the fact that Xli lacks power windows, Its an Xli because it lacks thoose features or else it would be a Gli or an Altis if had all the goodies.

bro no comparison of economy b/w 660 n vitz ! if economy is ur main concern buy a 660 !
vitz r a bit heavy on fuel !
if u want economy go for 1L variant , if economy isnt a major issue n u want a silent car with enuf power go for 1.3 , otherwise in normal driving if ur a slow driver 1L is gud enuf

^ What is your expected fuel economy out of a Vitz? a 1000cc Vitz gives you around 10-14km/L depending on how you drive and the useage of A/C. a 1300cc should give you more or same ~ nearabout fuel average.

If fuel average is your only concern get a IDSI Honda City, it is probably the best car with respect to fuel efficiecncy.

Not sure about the prices in faisalabad, IN karachi a 2007 Vitz 1000cc can cost from 9.5 to 10.5, and 1300cc can cost from 10-11 lacks. depending on features etc.

Theirs is a intellegence package, that car has the around 1-2 km/L better fuel economy, it convert to battery on signals and long stops works like a hybrid at signals/long stops only.

@spiderman My car came with a normal audio player, so i didnt require the plastic panel, Consult your audio shop they should help you other wise your option is the scrap market.

Yes, You would need to talk to ur audio shop, If not youll have to find/order one from the scrap yard. It shouldnt be a hard find.

    Default Tyre Pressure

I bought a 1 L 2010 model unregistered Vitz (22000 km) couple of months back. The tyres looked a bit more worn than 22k otherwise car was in excellent condition. One thing bothered me though, even after change of engine oil, oil filter, air filter and using super/hi-octane in 70:30 ratio and driving gently as I am no more a teenager, I was not able to get it past 9 km/L.
As a last resort I found tyre shop with digital air pressure gauge and checked all my tyres. The pressure ranged from 29 to 34 psi (which I was trying to keep to 34 from the spring/clock type gauges). From the digital meter I put it to 35 psi in all 4 tyres. The car is a little bumpy on broken roads but as I drive mostly on carpeted roads so it was not a big issue. but VOILA now the average since then is more than 12 km/L.
    Just wanted to share this
Any comments/suggestions to improve mileage further are welcome

The company recommended is 30 psi front and 32 psi back. That should possibly give the best average.
The 22k mileage shouldn't be taken as the original, as majority of the meters are tempered. But lets just hope its tempered not a whole lot.
Get your spark plugs checked as well, mine were worn out/leaking current so required a change with 25k on odo
