    Default Toyota Vitz Owners/Fan Club

    The purpose of this post is to gauge the interest in forming a Toyota Vitz Owners Club in different cities of Pakistan. As we all know that Vitz has become quite popular in the last year or so. More and more people are buying it or are interested to know more about it. The purpose of the club would be to share technical / operational information regarding the car. As well as help fellow members with different issues regarding the everyday running of the car. There would be regular meets and get together as well as cruises. The criteria to join the club would be to own a Vitz and a desire to help and share information with fellow members. I myself am based in Karachi, so I can take the lead in taking off this project here. Other can do the similar thing in their respective cities. If there is enough interest, a formal charter / by-laws would be issued with club rules and regulation as well as its mission statement. The club would operate under the same rules & conditions as other international car clubs. To take this project off the ground, I believe 10 people in each city would be the minimum requirement. If anyone from Karachi is interested in being a part of this club, please email me at danyal1@hotmail.com. Pakwheelers from other cities can share their email addresses under this post if they are willing to take the lead for their respective cities. I hope to this see become a success someday and a model for other to follow. LETS MAKE IT HAPPEN GUYS!!!

    Good to hear that u r satisfied from ur vitz. As for the mileage yes my car is giving me somewhere between 15-17 depends upon from where i fill the tank. and this is with ac. Last tank it gave me 17 but it actually varies in every fillup but still its bw 14 and 17. When i bought the car in january changed all the things on the 2nd day and till then its going gr8 mashallah no problems at all. Things included all the filters,oils, and everything. So better get your car checked. I think u live in g-10/4 i also live there we can meet up sometime

    Yeah sure thing brother it will be pleasure meeting you. I also got the cat removed 2 months back and the performance of the car has improved alot same goes for the mileage. The engine sound actually changes. The engine now sounds like its breathing freely now.

    Just as expected! Bad part is that these guys are probably the best you can get around here! Anyways, I did not want to go back to those guys as they had earlier filled up the wrong atf and I wasn't happy with that either. So I did something slightly risky (tried to take all precautions) and made this make shift sucking device... using an empty bottle, some thicker straws and tape and sucked about half a liter of the atf from the opening of the atf dip stick! Never thought I'd be telling this to anyone! Anyways, now it shows the correct levels when cold and hot! But this is NOT recommended at all! It's better to take it back to them and tell them to drain a little bit of it!

    From what I've heard and understand, ATF and engine oils are pretty harmful in the long run if they are put in more than required!

    The 40k service they did on my car... in addition to the regular stuff (changing all fluids except power steering fluid), they checked/cleaned the brakes (by taking out all tyres) and fuel filter. Tightened a few nuts and bolts - they were already tight in any case. They had also cleaned the ATF filter, but when I went back for the correct ATF, I also bought a new ATF filter/strainer and got it replaced totally. I'll let u know exactly how much they charged after checking the receipt.

    @sqahar

    normally atf should be changed after doing 40 to 50k kms. unless there's something wrong with it.

    just an idea for everyone... maybe there should be some organized way of storing all this information... cuz most of the stuff gets re-asked. hope i'll be able to make it to the meet! don't know anyone here in isb!

    @amoizp

    I went back to them this morning and made them drain out some but its still about 1/4 inch over the full mark when hot I also wrote them a strongly worded complaint and copied it to various deptt in Toyota, as to how they can make such mistakes when they claim their staff are professionally trained??? Dont worry I read a similar method on the internet about draining the ATF using airliine tubing (the one used in aquariums) and sucking out the fluid but then as u mentioned its risky as you dont know how much you're removing

    Is your level now exactly at the full mark or is it between the add and full mark (as mentioned in the service manual) when hot and cold as shown on the dipstick?

    Secondly, guess what?? I realised why my engine oil is about 1/2 an inch above the full mark. When they lifted the car I noticed that the oil chamber was damaged and pushed inwards like it was hit by some stone or speed breaker when driving maybe. Maybe it could have been dented during unloading at the port. Should I replace it?
    Will try and post a pic.

    Surprised to hear that amoizp They knew that the Vitz needed the Type IV ATF when I just doubled checked with them

    How did u know you had to take out half a litre? In my case how much would it be now if its still about 1/4 inch above the full mark?
