    Default Toyota Vitz Owners/Fan Club

The purpose of this post is to gauge the interest in forming a Toyota Vitz Owners Club in different cities of Pakistan. As we all know that Vitz has become quite popular in the last year or so. More and more people are buying it or are interested to know more about it. The purpose of the club would be to share technical / operational information regarding the car. As well as help fellow members with different issues regarding the everyday running of the car. There would be regular meets and get together as well as cruises. The criteria to join the club would be to own a Vitz and a desire to help and share information with fellow members. I myself am based in Karachi, so I can take the lead in taking off this project here. Other can do the similar thing in their respective cities. If there is enough interest, a formal charter / by-laws would be issued with club rules and regulation as well as its mission statement. The club would operate under the same rules & conditions as other international car clubs. To take this project off the ground, I believe 10 people in each city would be the minimum requirement. If anyone from Karachi is interested in being a part of this club, please email me at danyal1@hotmail.com. Pakwheelers from other cities can share their email addresses under this post if they are willing to take the lead for their respective cities. I hope to this see become a success someday and a model for other to follow. LETS MAKE IT HAPPEN GUYS!!!

    AoA PWers!
Allhamdoulillah, I have just bought Toyota Vitz 2011 (KSP-130) 1.0L. Imported through JDM Import services. The car is 16K driven original.
The only issue that i am facing up til now is rough idle, which i am hopeful will be rectified easily InshAllah.
The reason for this issue can be one one of the following:
    1. Bad Battery.
    2. ECU re calibration.
    3. Spark Plugs

I am more inclined towards attributing this issue with reason number 1. Since the car was in transit for more than a month and the battery was connected all this time, it might have resulted in a weakening of the battery. Although the car comes with original AC Delco Battery 36Ah which is just one year old according to the date mentioned on it. The idle gets rougher when i turn on the lights. Also, the lights are OEM HIDs with auto leveling system.
Any critique or suggestions on the matter will be deeply appreciated.
The few things that I will do on urgent basis is oil change, air-filter change, spark plug inspection, ecu reset, cvt oil inspection.
Bumper Sticker: "I feed off other people's rage, so drive carefully :-)."

First of all congratulations on buying the new Vitz. JDM import services are trust worthy guys.
If you can spend 1500rs then go to any Toyota service centre and get your Throttle body cleaned along with the ECU reset. Rough idle will be gone for sure and you wont feel any vibration while running the ac on 4 and all the lights on. Its just the carbon deposit on it and ecu reset will take care of the rest. No need to do anything about battery and spark plugs. If you want to save some money then go to Magic motors model town and they will do the same work for about 700rs.
If the car is 16k driven original which is most probably true, no need to do CVT and spark plug inspection. Save your money for later. Reason is its just like a new car and nothing happens to CVT oil until 40k kms and my car is driven about 60000kms and plugs are just like new and i have never changed them.
Change the engine oil to Toyota Genuine Oil 10w30. It comes in a tin pack and is the best oil for Vitz in this price. Costs 2490 from Filter house. They have many branches in Lahore and depends on where you live. Do not compromise on oil filter and use genuine Toyota oil filter. Costs 900rs. You can use any air filter except Alco. They used to be good but now the worse.
    Any more questions?

Thank you for the detailed reply.
For oil, i'll probably opt for Toyota 5W-30 or Total Quartz 9000 5W-30, as i have been using these 2 oils in my altis for past 2 years and their performance is satisfactory as compared to Toyota 10W-30.
I am apprehensive about throttle body service, since I am yet to come across some one who can properly service the throttle body in LHR.
I have already had a bad experience with Honda 3S mechanics for servicing the throttle body as they screwed my idle sensor calibration and I had to re-adjust it myself.
Since the car idles rough even in N mode, and the roughness intensifies when i turn on the lights.
However, what I have noticed is that when i came to a halt after 30mins of continuous driving, the roughness wasn't there any more, perhaps the battery got charged?

10w30 and 5w30 are pretty much same. They perform same while car is up and running. 5w30 might be better while temperature is below -10 i guess. Between Total and TGO i would reckon Toyota 5w30.
When i bought my Vitz2010 and arrived home, it was vibrating like an earthquake. Went to Toyota Ravi and they cleaned the throttle and did a reset on ECU by connecting OBD scanner. Then he put the car on D and turned on all the lights including signals and cabin lights and turned on the ac on 4 and still i couldnt feel any rough idle or vibration. Turned everything off and rpm came down to 800 smoothly without and vibrations.
If you had a bad experience about throttle before then i would recommend Toyota Airport motors. They are very expert as of my personal experience.
If im not wrong, Vitz requires 45Ah battery. Haven't heard from anyone having 36Ah battery in their car. Even the manual says 45Ah.

Not sure about the price but nearest Toyota 3s centre would be a wise choice to get some satisfactory job done. When you are on the way to workshop, open your windows and turn on the heater on fresh air. It will pass the outside cold air through the engine to keep it cool a little bit. Best thing to do when such problem occurs. If workshop is far then just get some water sprayed on the radiator from sevice station. Thats all i could help..

Justified. I paid 2100 total for my car, and I didn't get it done from 3S.

I went to change oil of my 1999 vitz. Initially I used Liqui moly oil, dnt remember its grade bt it was one.of the top line variant and oil color was lead gray...i think it was 5w20. It gave gud mileage and i.changed it after 9000k as the company recommends 10-12k mileage. When drained...the oil was still viscous and the quantity was almost the same i.e. 3.5 litres approx that means engine didnt consume oil. Bt second time I went for zic A+ and yesterday after 5000 kms when I checked gauge the oil level was at half...thats shocking for me as my car's engine is in extremely gud condition (96% compression rate). I decided to change oil immediately and went to a shop...wanted to have ur xpert opinion, that for which oil I shud go this time bt unfortunately didnt hv ur number....kindly note that my car's odo is 187,000 kms and I imported it myself in january 2013.

I ultimately have havoline 10w30 deposit shield bkz I cudnt afford to spare even another day on that oil...was it right decision as I read ur previous posts in which u recommended 5w30 or 10w30 for vitz....i was confused that the same grade would be gud for older models as of mine or just for 6-7 year older models....

You're a victim of fake engine oil. Change it asap and switch back to whatever you were using.

AOA Brothers and Happy Eid Mubarak to All,
I am a proud owner of Vitz 2009 model (1.0L), i am little worried about the underneath sheet of my car's front bumper as it was cracked as i was driving it in heavy rain on 27th July 2014 in Lahore. I am curious that from where i can find it and what can be the approx. cost of it with fitting.
